Getting it Ready


Before I begin, I want to say a special thanks to Bryant, the engineer, for letting me sit in on this. I found the experience very interesting, and it was a good way for me to relax after only getting four hours of sleep!

Here, Bryant has removed the core chip from my computer board, and must no de-solder the actual EPROM from its adapter. While the adapter clips on to the board, the EPROM is soldered in place! Bryant spent almost an hour trying to desolder the chip. YUK! This was actually the longest step in the process, but a very neccessary one, unfortunately.

Once the chip has been removed, Bryant cleaned up the edges, and made sure the socket was still good. After touching up a few spots, we went over to JET's special computer...
