The History of VICTIM

In 1983, Bill Vezzosi formed the band that soon became known as VICTIM. He registered the name VICTIM in September of that year and the group played a variety of venues. In 1989 the band recorded their first CD, but it took seven years to be publicly released. When it was finally released, it started a whirlwind of concerts. VICTIM headlined at "Dirtstock 97" in Kalamazoo, Michigan and numerous shows at the now defunct "Palladium" concert hall in Roseville, Michigan. In addition to getting regular gigs, VICTIM gained a following of fans, which sparked the release of a live CD. This was followed by an "outtake" CD. Although more mature now, they can still tear it up. On this website you can find pictures of the band members and future gig dates. Detroit audiences have been great to the band for many years, and VICTIM gives back what they get. VICTIM swag (t-shirts, hats and jackets) is available at all the shows. Join our mailing list from this website, and we look forward to seeing and hearing from you.

About the CD

The first CD, "On the Edge of a Breakdown", consists of ten songs. Nine are original VICTIM songs written by various members of the group. It was originally thought that the CD would have eleven songs; nine original and two cover (songs by other artists). One of the chosen cover songs was a song recorded by the band Def Leppard. In order to secure this, the vocalist of VICTIM had a "meeting" with the members of Def Leppard and received permission to use the song. (Actually, it turned out to be a drinking session.) After all the hub-bub...it was decided that the song would NOT make the CD. However, one cover song did make the CD, which was Mama Kin by Aerosmith. Due to limited funds at the time, the recording of the CD was done as economically as possible, which meant that it was recorded two-track digital "live". This means that all the songs had to be performed live and without error. The sessions were grueling, and the band was glad when it was done. Although the sound quality is not as great as it could be, it was re-mastered by Gary Spaniola (producer, guitarist) and life was once again breathed into the songs. (Gary has co-written and produced such things as the group, Ready For The World, Insane Clown Posse, and many more...)
