This is a car that I would say isnt quite ready to be sold; that is, with a little simple mechanical work and a thorough detailing, it would be a much more desirable candidate than it is now.

This car would be a fantastic choice for somebody on a limited budget, with some good mechanical skills and a bit of patience.  It could be a rolling restoration, where after a few immediate-action items are sorted out (steering, axle/bearings, bushings, headlights, window, front tires), the car could then be driven, and the remaining items sorted as time and budget allowed.

As it sits, I view this car as about a $25K proposition--well, thats before including the value of the included parts, including a spare engine (probably worn-out), new axle/bearings, and a full set of poly suspension bushings.  Taking that into account, it creeps upwards into the $27K range or thereabouts.  A thorough cleaning would go a long way towards improving the sale-ability of the car, too.

But if the immediate-action items are sorted before the car is sold, and the car then has tight suspension, new front tires, and everything electrical works, then it nudges up towards the $30K level.

I really enjoyed driving this car, even with its braking/steering issues.  It goes really well, sounds great, the color is appealing (scratches notwithstanding), and it would be a very simple thing to really improve this car
dynamically, by doing things like removing the spring spacers to lower it back down to the stock (European) ride height, fitting a new radiator, cleaning up the interior foibles, installing relays and a new headlight switch, etc.

The car is what it is.  If this is the kind of car you are looking for, then its highly recommended.  If what you want is a turn-key, no-issues car as opposed to a rolling collection of minor (and some major) projects, then you would be best advised to look elsewhere (and plan on spending substantially more).
