12-23-02: Christmas Eve Eve... Well we got our wish of an away show. Next Saturday we play in Tipton, Indiana. Not exactly sure where that is, but one thing is for sure, it is far away from Greenwood! A few things have happened since the good ol' post of last week, plus some other things which I'd care not to mention 1:) As mentioned, we have a show in far away Tipton, Indiana 2:) Alkatraz Records has been scoping us out, and is interested in DC sending a Press Kit. Which includes: photos, a video of a concert or event, a group bio, Bios of individual members, and of course a copy of our demo. Of course we will keep you all informed on such an event, so keep watching for updates. 3:) I sent out the first D.C. NEWSLETTER! If you are interested simply e-mail the band, or sign the guestbook stating that you wanna join. We'll sign you up, and maybe one day you'll get a free t-shirt. (t-shirt is not valid in the U.S.) So sign up! What've you got to lose, you're friends have already done it! 4:) And as I've stated profusely, DC will be in our first ever E-Zine. (details are below in previous Posts) Well I was wrong. The interview will not be our first to be published. For starters, we have been in the Center Grove Times Twice. That isn't relevant really, but it has happened. Next off, we were, along with many others, in the Daily Journal back in may. I do not know why i dint think of such fiascos (wrong word to use i know) but i didn't , and i am sorry. SIGN THE GUESTBOOK! VISIT THE FAN SITE! JOIN OUR NEWLETTER! SEE OUR SHOWS! REMEMBER ALEX.... FOR WHAT HE COULD'VE BEEN ---thank ye kindly, Froman---- (12:03am) 12-15-02: After one of the better shows i've been to yet, all feuds were settled. D.C., Pogo, and Jairus now have a unity of some sort. Rumors started a feud which, in my opion, never should have started. We are LOCAL BANDS... IN GREENWOOD, INDIANA for fucks sake!!! We never'll make it in this industry if we fill our shows w/ people hating one another, and not helping those bands which strongly need help getting shows with such. We need help quite a few times to get shows. We are not special. Mike and I have made up. We are tolerable of one another. Jake the drummer, whom i thought was the ass of the clan, is actually a hell of a guy. So hopefully this mess has been cleaned and no feelings have been hurt too deeply. I am going to keep the posts up. I want everyone to see how childish both sides were being, and besides they are quite funny. So to make a long story short, if you see that D.C. is playing with pogo, COME TO THE SHOW!! They could use your support, and we hope many of you fans, or whomever, can give it to them. Jairus will also be playing shows with us in the near future. We will miss you Joel (bassist of Coalition moving to Ohio), you were always my favorite. ----Josh L. Froman---- 12-08-02: The Dec. 21st show will have to go on with one less band, we unfortunately cannot play the show because Ryan has to visit family in Chicago. I definitely suggest those of you originally planning to attend, to do so. D.C. minus Ryan, will be there to support the show, and Makeshift will not have another until possibly this summer. Coalition and Makeshift are the two bands that are on the bill at the time, but i will inform thee with the other when figgered out. So we are getting interviewed. Nothing Huge or anything, but a great honor. A newly formed Independent E-zine, flufferhead, has asked D.C. to be in their Debut issue. We of course accepted, and our interview is to be prior to the show we play in January @ the refuge (see "shows" for details). We are to be on the cover of this newly formed E-zine, and maybe this'll inspire others alike to interview us. Three songs are now available for download in"Download" section of this site. I apologize greatly on the exorbinant amount of time it took for this. I am slightly a procrastinator, thus the reason for such. Anyways,"Demoncratic"; "When You're Not Around"; and "Skimlawn" are now available for d/l, so if you are interested please sample our music. Join the Newsletter/Band-letter. All of your friends have!! For anyone interested in joining the fanlist for the OFFICIAL DC NEWLETTER please give us you e-mail address in either the Guestbook, via E-mail, or Both. Come on, what've you got to lose. Also please Visit the guestbook. I hope to See everyone Sat. January 18 @ refuge ----thankee Kindly, Froman---- 12-01-02 We have been relaxing a bit for the Thanksgiving break we've gotten from school, but we will not rest too long. We have two shows already planned out, and many more to come after that. The refuge is having us play (thank you Ryan from Coalition) in January, and we are playing the infamous Logo's (aka The Underground Attic) Sat. Dec, 21. Check out the "shows" section for more details. We've been working hard on writing and playing new material for upcoming events, and it seems to be quite promising. The New CD should be something amazing. Especially from a band of our caliber. Ryan got a new guitar (fender custom strat) and hasn't put it down since, and amazingly enough Mr. Bassist has been writing INCREDIBLE bass lines. Not just the "old skool" 3 note bass lines for him. If only Alex could play like him. Oh we would be so proud, but that is a different story altogether. So why haven't you signed the guestbook yet? I don't care if you like us or not. Tell us that!!! Just sign the guestbook that's what it is here for. Or if you want an even more personal setting with the band, e-mail us. BY THE WAY: check out the fan page.... It is amazing!!! It is especially amazing due to the fact that someone appreciates us enough to make us a fan site, or let alone LIKE THE BAND!!! Sorry about the randomness of this post... you can understand though. Or can you? -----Froman----- 11-21-02 Are we selling out? We are playing a pep rally at Sonic Drive-in tomorrow, Nov. 22, and some may say we are "selling out"... well it is a free show, so no money is involved, and we are getting free food. So I feel it is for a good cause. Besides those strictly coming for the school spirit of it may change their thoughts on local and Rock music in general. I thought us getting sponsored by Keyskateboards seemed more like selling out... oh well. So the concert IS FREE!!! So come to it. It starts at 4 and will end at 6 for anyone wanting to get to the game at 7. Hopefully it will be bitch-freezing-cold tomorrow too. Never played in the cold. Methinks that would be fun. Who wants to help us out? We need shows in NEW areas with NEW crowds. We want to appeal more to the college kids. They seem to appreciate music more. And getting play on the college stations couldn't hurt either. So help us. We will play for free. Not begging, just trying to branch out. Club Rhino's gives us the date when we should play this evening. So that's a start on us relocating our scene. Oh well sign the guestbook, or we will kill Alex... er i mean tom... I forot We already have alex out of the way.... Mooo-HAHAHAA- ---thankee, Froman---- 11-12-02 The Basement concert was swell (on a perfomance standpoint), but the turnout wasn't quite as grand as we'd hoped. That's the consequence for bad promotions. We simply promoted by word of mouth and obviously not to the right people. As far as our performance... WE DID INCREDIBLE. Sure there were only 30-40 people, but we played as if for 3-4000. Definitely one of our best. The highlights included: the introduction of Two New Songs to the audience (also including the two former songs first played at Logo's); the smashing of a birdhouse, a dead bird still inside the house which had been in the basement since the band began (one year ago); and simply the celebration of the band's one year. On a different note, we are taking a wee-bit of a show break 'round these parts for a bit. We (primarily I) feel we are OVER-SATURATING the same audience, which is something all local bands have to strive to overcome. We want to play to different crowds, and branch out our music. Tom and I are going to go down south, to bloomington, to set up a show @ club Rhino's in the near future, and hopefully we will be playing the Emerson soon. Until then we are going to work harder than ever before to create new material, as well as improve former, for the full-length CD we will be recording 'round June. So if you have any ?s, comments, or shows simply contact us. Either via e-mail, or through our guestbook. We're always open-minded and willing to hear suggestions. --Thankee Kindly, Froman-- 11-02-02 (D.C. Finally has a voice): Well this site has been up and running for awhile, and has experienced many transitions , but many have agreed on one thing: The site never had posts from the D.C.ers themselves. Well it has begun, and as often as possible we (the Band) will post what we feel like posting simply to give da' people insight with what is recently happening. Well as it just so happens, D.C. is soon to have it's birthday. "The Infamous D.C. ONE YEAR Birthday Bash" Is said to be an amazing event. Barada will be joining us in our celebration, which is 100% free for anyone that is interested. Come on and celebrate. For more info on this check out the "upcoming events" section of the site. Who wants to hear aboot controversy? We (D.C.) are God and America haters.... WHAT?!?!?! well according to an incredulous rumor spread Center Grove this is true. Hmmmm... and why is this so? American Way. That would explain the confusion of the "America hating" part what about the God hating part? obviously someone got confused, we (All of D.C.) are christians. Maybe not in the traditional sense, but we are still fans ot that higher power who/whatever that may be. And now the Question of the week. This is for those that have heard this song in D.C.s past "Desolate" should it be brought back to the live show, and/ or put on the the upcoming CD due to come out in JUNE 2003 Give your comment in the Guestbook or simply e-mail the band. ---thank ye kindly for reading and visiting Froman---
1-22-03: TWENTY DAYS SINCE THE LAST POST... Well hello again. Let me first start off with the fact that the Refuge show went well and NEW DC PiCs are now available. Well the interview never happened, and although that should seem disappointing, it's not the biggest deal in the world. Supposedly the interviewer had work, and could not show to the event. But I do believe the interview shall postponed to a new event. We are scheduling to play LOGO's Again in February, and we are also playing March, 29th with the Ohio Band Rookie. Supposedly if we get them a show here in good ol' Indy, they are to return the favor, getting us a show in Ohio near April. RECORDING SOON! LOOKING FOR CD TITLES! FREE CD TO THE WINNER! AND LOTS OF OTHER STUFF! WHO CARES.... JUST HELP US OUT! Email us your suggestion, and while you're at it join our mailing list. Well we are still working hard on upcoming material, shows, and merchandise. We just got buisiness cards made, and stickers are soon to come in our list of priorities. T-shirt, well those are in the future. What can i say? DC isn't a band that gets everything handed to them. Although many times we wished that we did. Thank you very much for reading, Sign the guestbook, View our new pics, and visit the fan site... Josh Edgar Froman 1-02-03: ANOTHER YEAR WITH DC!!! Well another year is upon us, and as most people do, we, DC, have made resolutions which i hope we keep in weeks, months, and years to come. Well the second DC newletter was just sent out, so if you haven't yet, join the mailing list. What have you got to lose? You get a random letter from a band such as us... but most importantly, all YOUR FRIENDS ARE DOING IT! The guestbook needs signed. The guestbook needs signed. The Tipton show was very good! Except that by tipton, I meant Elwood. It was a mere two hour drive from Greenwood, and it was a small town, but in a lot of ways it was our first real show. It consisted of new people. Not friends and acquaintances. I was very proud of our performance although i could have done better vocally. My voice was scratchy from a sore-throat, but the show had to go on. I drank what was left of my two Montain Dew Ampeds... and then we set out to play. The microphone kept shocking me. So in the Elwood show pics to come, you should notice the black leather gloves which were mandatory for me to perform. We have yet another slight break after the Refuge show. We will kick things off in the spring with possibly a show at Logo's and hopefully something further away from us than even Elwood. Destructive Criticism needs time to practice. And practice we shall. I will of course continue to update the site, and fill everyone in on the minor/major details of what is to come. Do not fret. And if you cannot wait long enough for these random posts, then sign up for our Newsletter , and get updates bi-weekly. Thank ye very much! ----Josh Elroy Froman---- We will miss you Joel (bassist of Coalition moving to Ohio), you were always my favorite. ----Josh L. Froman----
3-11-03: THE NEW DC ALLIANCE. Well well, we DC had the priveledge to play with possibly the coolest guys in history, My Hostage Heart. Which was the Kentucky based band I had spoken of, NOT the Giggies! They were talented drunkard old men straight from our Indianapolis heartland. It was an incredible show , although the lack of attendance. But hey, that's what happens when you don't promote right. We've had worse shows ... ie Premo's back in June! March 29, 2003 in fishers is not to happen. We DC were just recently informed that a school event has been scheduled to take place at the venue we'd scheduled with. NO big deal, we are still going to play with the band AVA in the future, and that show is to happen in april sometime. The exact date, i'll keep you posted. Well thank you once again for reading.... and have a swell day! Homer Eugene Froman 3-5-03: SATURDAY'S SHOW IS NEAR!! Saturday, March 8th at Logo's DC is scheduled to play! Other acts include: the Giggies and My Hostage Heart. Neither band of which DC has had the priveledge to play with before. For more specific directions, please e-mail us for more specific directions. Well that's all for now! Homer Jackson Froman 2-19-03: DC CANCELS, BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!! We were privledged to get another show at the Refuge, but due to improper planning on our part, the show will not include us. Oh Well, we still have Three Shows in March, so I am not complaining! CHECK OUT THE ALL NEW MESSAGE BOARD!!! VIEW MY UPandCOMING WeBSITE!!! Rookie canceled, So Check out DC with Lafayette based band AVA! I am very impressed with what little I've heard, and the singer isn't too shabby herself! To Visit the page and take a listen for yourself click here ! Well once again, thanks for visiting... and Congratulations to barada on their CD debut... "playing in traffic" Please visit the official Barada site to get your copy H.J.Froman 2-17-03: TWO DAYS SINCE THE LAST POST.... YET ANOTHER SHOW ADDED TO OUR FUNFILLED MARCH MONTH!!! March 1 DC will return to the refuge. As of now, not much has been said as to what bands are playing, and at what times. We are going on between 7 and 9. That is as vivid as I can be on the details, I apologize on this lack of information. WE NOW HAVE A MESSAGE BOARD! Well it came to my attention, that someone has used our name as their CD title. As I e-mailed the band and explained the irony as well as the flattery, I was befuddled to get a wretched reply. They took my message the wrong way. Now they hate me. God bless the internet! SIGNED UP FOR THE LOGO'S BATTLE OF THE BANDS! Trying to get a date in April, I will give More info when it arrives. Thank You Very Kindly, Josh MeGuste Froman! 2-15-03: MANY CONCERTS A'COMIN', ARE YOU READY?!?! Well we haven't a show in February, and that is for many reasons which I care not to describe. In March, the tables have turned. We have several shows. First off The Logo's DC Reunion Show w/ Special Guest Alex Morse is March 8th. Then we have the Good ol' Butterfly Memorial Concert Just a mere few days away on March 16 @ Center Grove High School. Then finally Destructive Criticism Is set to play with the Ohio Based Band Rookie on March 29.... Not too shabby! Now I must add that possibly one or ALL shows (except Butterfly Memorial) may be cancelled/rescheduled due to personal issues. We will inform you of any mishaps at the latest, one week in advance. I have started a new website... It's a conglomerate of many writings I have done over that past few years. It is also a site for writings of many others. If by chance You or someone you know is interested in joining me and my many writings on my site, Please e-mail at least three forms of your writings (poetry/random) and a pic. My E-mail is: homerjayfroman@hotmail.com The site is: www.geocities.com/homerjayfroman Thank You Everyone Especially my Jiggle Tit friend Big D.. For keeping me in touch with the "little" People Josh Cecilia Froman (Jedi Knight and Friend to Capt. Solo) 2-01-03: THE BAND HAS BROKEN UP! Well the time with DC have been fun and exciting, but unfortunately, due to artistic differences, the band has broken up! So Please Remember us for Who we Were, AND what We Could've Been! So Come See D.C. March 8 At Logo's, with our very special guest ALEX! Yes this is sure to be one of the greastest reunion Shows of this Millenium! So Please join us won't you!?!?!! Well, it has been brought to my attention, that one with the alias "your motherfucking nightmare" has a problem with me. I suppose I talk too much about my mother's death. Hmm guess I think of nothing else. SO, We DC, have decided to meet this "your motherfucking nightmare" , and settle this the positive old school way: "A RAP OFF!". So "your motherfucking nightmare", if you're game, and Lord knows we are, simply post yet another message in our guestbook of when and where the rap off shall be. WHo knows, maybe i'll even rap aboot my dead mother! :) As of now, we have a show set up with the Ohio based band ROOKIE, but the details of this event we shall give to you's guys on a future date. As of now all i can say is the show is on March 29th. Other than that, I can't discuss. So I just want to say that i love you... And Good luck to DC's Ryan Christ Vest with his show Tonight at the Refuge (Acoustic Solo Project, DAMN good stuff!) Well thankee kindly, Josh Sarah Froman
