m3 formed in 1989 out of the remains of the Demented Minds Project. The first line up consisted of : Hot Rod-guitars, Brad RichMan-bass, Bob-Dan evil dude- drums, Milktoast-vocals. The first studio recording"m3 Bag O' Shit"was released that same year. MRR reviews said it "Quick, raw, trashy punk with angry, fed up lyrics. Three tunes all ultra raunchy" The funny thing was the whole recording was made with the guitar and bass completely out of tune with each other. Now that's punk rock. The recording also included the now Classic spoken word cut "The Dookie Machine". The Bag O' Shit consisted of a tape, lyric sheet, flyers, and sticker all packaged in a handy zip- loc baggie. DIY baby...at the time we onlty had a few originals so we were fucking up covers by such bands as Black Flag, DI ,The Exploited, Minor Threat, The Adolesents ,Bad Religion,MDC, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, GBH, etc... Our first big show came when we opened for ANTiSEEN in '89 at the Fine Arts Theatre in Asheville,NC.(See flyer on Grapics page) Hot Rod was booted after getting too fucked up to play more than a couple of songs. He was replaced buy this guy named Greg on guitars. Nobody still remembers what his last name was, anyway he played with us through 1991. I think it was '91 when Greg and Brad left the band. Brad moved to Berkley, I have no clue where Greg went, hell I don't even know his last name. In 1992 we revamped the line up. I changed my name from Bob-Dan evildude to Danny and went from drums to guitar, Chuck was added on drums, Wes on bass, and Milktoast changed his name to Keith but kept trying to sing. By the way, the whole time we were playing shows mostly around North and South Carolina at infamous dives such as The SpidersWeb, Squashpile , Metropolis,Earl Owensby Studios etc... I'm thinking it was early '93 when we recorded a new 10 song demo with this guy named Tony Maddey. He was such a rocker. The guitar effects he used were so lame but we didn't have to pay him much so we couldn't really complain. Later that year we added a second guitar , Jason Hick and he played with the band for the next year or so. I left the band in '94 to go be a dad and was replaced by this metal head named Jamie. He really liked solos. He recorded " Songs from the Laundry" with us later that year. He was booted after that and we were left without a guitarist. So Keith picked it up and in 1995 with the line up of Keith, Wes, and Chuck recorded "The Margret E.P." It was released by Green Eggs Records. I rejoined the fray in the middle of '95. We continued playing shows, writing songs, and breaking shit through 1997 when we all decided to call it quits. In 2000 the fear of getting old and lame was starting to set in and I decided , along with my therapist, that it would be a good idea to start fucking shit up again. So I began trying to convince the rest of the guys that there is entirely too much Emo, radio punk shit happening, and it was our duty as old school mo fo's to do something about it. Keith was unable to join us, having babies and all, so we convinced Stacey, karoke master and owner of Green Eggs and Jam record store in here in Asheville and Green Eggs Records who has re-released our last 7" , to join up and be a rock star. After a brief stent Stacy decided to stick to selling cd's insead of being on them . In fall of '04 Keith rejoined the band on a hell-bent drunken mission to bring the old school charms of punk rock back to he masses. We are currently writng new material and playing shows with Keith taking over the vocal duties/rhythem guitar as well as producing a new 24 song CD of live performances, demos, and other shit dating back to 1989. The CD should be out by this spring with a follow up cd of all new material out later this year. We are currently working on a split 7" with our good friends US CHRISTMAS and playing as many shows as possible. Stop in and buy us a beer and we'll tell ya more................................. later.. your friend, Danny
