| Hummus (Chick Pea Spread) |
- 2 c. cooked garbanzo beans or chick peas and 1/3 C. water OR 2 cans (15 oz. or 425 g.)
chick peas (undrained)
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/3 c. lemon juice
- � c. tahini paste ( ground sesame seeds)
- 2 tsp. Mint leaves
- Dash of salt, pepper and cayenne

Put all ingredients in a blender and
mix. Add more water if mixture is too dry.
Serve in pita pouches as a sandwich spread or as a dip for raw vegetables. |
Cranberry Apple Chutney |

- 1 1/4 cup gran. Sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 pkg. cranberries (3 � cup)
- 2 med. apples cut in �" pieces
- 1 med. onion chopped
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1/8 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans toasted & chopped (opt)
- Combine sugar & water, bring to boil, boil 3 minutes. Add rest of ingredients except
nuts and cook over low med. heat 20 to 25 min. until thickened. Stir occasionally. Cool
& stir in nuts.
