What
are L.I.F.E. groups?
Altus
Christian Fellowship's LIFE Groups concept may seem unusual, but it is
actually the New Testament pattern of church life. LIFE stands for the
four basic components of our small groups.
Love
Instruction
Fellowship
Evangelism
We refer to these groups as LIFE Groups because they are based off of
the concept of the role that human cells play in our development and survival
as human beings in life.
A cell is a living organism that forms the fundamental unit of living
matter. Cells are necessary for creating and maintaining life, and in
the same manner, LIFE Groups are fundamental for the maintaining and creating
of atmospheres whereby Christian lives may thrive. As believers, this
is important.

How do
LIFE Groups Function?
Each
group consists of six to fifteen people who meet together weekly at a
group member's home. The groups are composed of fellow believersnad the
format is a basic discussion format with a time of prayer and fellowship.

It
is human nature to be shaped by the environment in which we live. Our
society, our family, our friends and the schools we attend shape our values
system, our personality and often our actions
When
you asked Christ into your life that was an immediate decision, but learning
how to live the Christian life takes time. Therefore, by surrounding yourself
with Christians, you will learn how to live a life that is pleasing to
God and and how to live a life that is in right relationship with others.
By this, you will also learn how to hear the voice of the Lord and discern
His purpose and plan for your life.
God wants each of us to live a life full of the abundance He has provided
for us in Jesus Christ. Get involved with a LIFE Group and watch as Christ
meets your every need and gives your life greater meaning and purpose
as you grow with other members of the family.

Benefits
of L.I.F.E. Groups
1.
Love
LIFE Group members offer support and care to their fellow believers. The
LIFE Group provides a friendly and non-threatening atmosphere where believers
are free to grow and are lovingly be cared for.
2.
Instruction 
It is important that believers surround themselves with the kind of people
who will help form Christ in them. God's Word tells us, "He who walks
with the wise grows wise..." (Prov 13:20 NIV).
LIFE Groups provide an environment in which believers can learn how to
live a life that is pleasing to God and walk in right relationships with
others.
3.
Fellowship 
God commands us to "...consecrate yourselves and be holy, because
I am holy. (Lev 11:44 NIV). As a believer, you will still deal with sinful
temptations that can cause you to stumble and hinder your relationship
with the Lord. However, through positive, godly relationships, we allow
our lives to be an open book, and in times of temptation, LIFE GROUPS
provide you with people you can confess weakness to and receive help and
encouragement from. Together, with God's grace, there can be ongoing help
available.
4.
Evangelism 
The Bible states that "... he who wins souls is wise" (Prov
11:30 NIV), and in Scripture Jesus commands us to tell others about Him.
Together, in a small group, individuals can work as a team to see others
come to a Christ in such a way that strengthens each individual. Giving
through witnessing is important to a balanced healthy Christian life.
