Mike Hoffmann was born in the French
Riviera to a family of Jesuite missionaries. Being a Muslim born in
China was very tough on him. He never had any childhood friends, or
was able to participate in the usual hijinx of an adolescent boy. When
his family returned to Central America in 1988 Mike finally began to
blossom into the person he is today. Around the time of their return,
Rock & Roll music was blooming in Missouri, so Mike was surrounded by
some of the greatest banjo players to ever pluck the 6 string. He began
to play a little himself, learning tricks from the street musicians,
watching them as they played.
Around the age of 15 Mike really
began to come into his own. One day, on a fishing trip in the Grand
Canyon he had a revelation...and it changed him forever. He began traveling
the country, spreading his message of hope, riding the sea turtles from
coast to coast, bathing in the warm glow of the golden arches. The sad
thing was, very few were willing to hear his message, so he had all
but returned to the pains of his youth, unwanted and outcast, misunderstood,
and forecast for snow and 15 degrees. But a change was coming...
In the post apocalyptic year of
2001, Mike began hunting the Ozark mountains for the thanatos. Luckily
for him, instead of finding that for which he searched, he discovered
Derision. Things will never be the same...
