Enchanted Spirits
New Age: 1
Electronica: 4
World: 2
This is a formulaic album, and therefore easy to describe. It's as if the producer took the concept of Enigma's Sadeness, added a modern dance palatte, and made it into a full-length album. The most obvious homage or ripoff, depending on your perspective, is track eight, Ritmo. All of the tracks on Enchanted Spirits feature Gregorian Chant and a dancy beat (though only a couple of tracks go to the four-on-the-floor extreme).
There isn't as much variety between the songs on this album as I usually prefer. Nevertheless, I've enjoyed it quite a bit. The most varied tracks are two, Hymn, with female vocals in the style of Lesiem, and ten, Alleluia, which features spoken male vocals. If you like Enigma's first album, and aren't too much of a stickler for variety, this could make a nice addition to your library. I would recommend buying Lesiem's first two albums before moving on to this, though.
I should add one caveat - I turn my treble up very high when listening to music, and whoever mastered this album wasn't prepared for listeners like myself. I have never had an album that causes my speakers to clip on the high end like this one does. When I turn the treble down, its fine - this shouldn't keep you from buying the album, but be aware of it if you're EQ preferences resemble mine.
