Longing for Orpheus

  • New Age: 4
  • Electronica: 2
  • World: 1
  • Given that you're probably going to take my self-commentary with a very large grain of salt, and a website about my music is only a click away, I'm going to simply describe my music and be on my way.

I only have a few tracks available, but I think I've developed a bit of an identifiable style. I'm pretty sparing with the beats, and heavy on the neo-classicism. All of my tracks are fairly downbeat - I like slow, emotional stuff. Reflection has a bit of a beat, and is the closest thing I have to Enigma-genre. Rise and Drift are both upbeat, synthy tracks, but the synth is really used in a New Age way (doesn't sound like Electronica). Finally Sonata for Night and especially Release are more neo-classical, both featuring string sections. I've also got a synthpop track up on www.mp3unsigned.com, which recently won 3rd place in a contest there. Its sound isn't really representative of my music, though.

    Nelson Ortiz

  • New Age: 4
  • Electronica: 1
  • World: 2
  • Nelson recently took 1st place in the contest in which I got 3rd. That got my attention, and I checked out his tracks on www.mp3unsigned.com (he has tracks up in a number of genres - check out those under NewAge and Classical). Though I really don't care for his contest entry, he has a few fantastic cinematic tracks. They're free to download, so it can't hurt you to at least go to the site and look!

    Slippy-T

  • New Age: 1
  • Electronica: 4
  • World: 1
  • Like myself, Slippy-T aparently isn't interested in shelling out cash to list extra songs online, so he only has three at a time available on www.mp3unsigned.com. They apparently vary in style, but I liked some that I heard recently - they're on the electronic side of things, but any major Delerium fans out there might find them interesting. Most importantly, he seems like a very nice guy, and a good musician - give him a chance. if you don't like it, you can easily leave.
