Adrift came along as a sort of spur-of-the-moment idea. I was in late highschool working on
a progression for my music theory class. The 1-minute song came about from experimenting over a simple progression. The melody
(or solo depending on how you look at it) felt as if it was writing itself at the time, I could hear it and just had to write down the notes so it was tangible.
Bringing Up the Sun was created for the Dixie State University guitar ensemble class, which I was heavily involved with at the time.
I wanted to have an output for my composition motivations and ended up writing a few different tracks that were specifically for a guitar ensemble setting.
The awful name comes from the fact that nearly all of the songs we were performing had terrible names such as "In a Garden Green".
I wanted to match that taste of awful when it came to the name for my own guitar ensemble piece.
