Terry's Ice House

(Contributed by Carol Hoodenpyle)

This was located on Lyon's Avenue, right next to the tracks across from Weingarten's.

Daddy would take us there occasionally for hamburgers.  He'd have coffee with cream and sugar.  The cream came in a very tiny glass container and he'd let me drink the leftovers. I also remember the ice-cold milk with foam on top and little Grapettes.

I remember one Sunday evening we went to Terry's to pick-up some supper.  While sitting in the car, we could hear the lively gospel music - singers, clapping hands, tambourines, piano, and drums – coming from the church right across the tracks
