Unfortunately any look at film adaptations of Charlotte Brontë's novels will be heavily skewed in favour of Jane Eyre. At present there have been 15 feature films, five television adaptations and one stage musical based on the novel. Of the other novels only Shirley has been filmed at all, a silent film in 1922.
