Skye has now enriched our lives for nearly 8 weeks.  She has been registered with the New Zeland Kennel Club so that she is able to do competitive obedience and agility.   We have a goal.

Her registered name is
'Lady Skye, Heaven Sent"

She has adapted to life inside extremely well.  Her previous existance has left it's scars in that she is so very scared to be alone, she is overcoming her fear of dark places.

She has accompanied me everywhere, even coming to work with me as the timing of her arrival was not the greatest and circumstances prevented me from leaving her at home with the other dogs in the family.

She has been taken to obedience classes and agility competitions and mixed with people and other dogs in an effort to socialise her.

She has no reservations with other dogs, she is playful and receptive to their approach.  Humans however are a different story. She is not aggressive towards them, more terrified and wants to hide. Thankfully I know nice people and she is slowly learning that no-one is allowed to hurt her any more and she is becoming more trusting and inquisative with their approach.

This page will have regular updates on
Skye's progress as she discovers that there is a world beyond the basement afterall.
