Mirtil 17-23, 1375: Professor Wyland convinces Chand and Harold to take along a fellow student, a gnomish cleric of Lathander named Cory, to help them. The two convince the others this is a good idea. The students return to the Gnome Keep and explore some more. They follow a series of every whitening rooms, each with side passages and traps. One side passage leads to a door with an angry gnome face that guards many sarcophagi (the face bites Darvin). Another side passage leads to a sturdy door holding a thick greenish-clear liquid which splatters the front of Darvin and hardens. Fortunately, wine loosens the substance up. Finally, they reach a room with five golden doors and an ancient gnome who barely looks alive. Cory speaks with the gnome and tells the others they must choose one of the five doors, one with a great reward and the other four leading to instant death. The students debate this, then decide to explore elsewhere. They recover ground they've been to before, returning to the skeletal dragon which asks for the password. Stymied, the students work on the gold door puzzle some more, whittling it down to two possibilities. Cory uses an augury to determine one isn't it. Matteo urges caution, taking Darvin back to Neverwinter to get more supplies for auguries and returning. Chand uses this time to bone up on manticores. Two more auguries and the students are confident which door is right. Chand touches the door and the room swirls, revealing a forge with the ancient gnome now hale and offering to improve one weapon each.
Mirtil 23-26, 1375: The students take their new weapons and leave the complex, determining several days must have passed. They spend the night then return to explore more of the complex. There are lots of corridors which seem to wind about. They discover an astronomer's room with a wood golem, a room with a fire pit that belches alchemist fire, a corridor with a rolling block trap (which smashes Cory and Matteo not once, but twice), and a room with several doors all which inform them they need to be gnomish nobles or fellows of Gond to enter. They keep exploring.
Mirtil 26-27, 1375: The students find the eating and food preparation area for the servants of the complex. Additionally, they also find shadows and a strange undead creature Matteo knows as a bonedrinker. They are defeated, but not without some injury, especially to Darvin. The students discover the head chef may have been a worshipper of Mask and poisoned the residents with a sleeping concoction. They also find what may be part of the clue to get pass the dragon. They settle into one of two Gond clerics rooms to rest and recover ability damage.
Mirtil 27-30, 1375: The students have lots of down time to recove, especially after returning to exloring more of the complex. They encounter a group of gnolls, on of which is a wizard, holed up in one of the rooms. The gnolls spring a pit trap that gets almost half the students. The gnoll wizard does a scorched earth fireball, killing himself and seriously injuring the rest of the students not in the pit. More recovery time. Cody helps them get past the burly gnome in the leather apron. More exploration leads to a room with a small whirlwind (the room has the illusion of being outdoors at night), and then an arena room where first Darvin fights a well-muscled wrestler and then a reptilian man with four arms, each holding four scimitars. He's knocked unconscious. Barnaby tries next and is also knocked unconscious.
Mirtil 30, 1375: The students wait for Harold to be knocked unconscious before exploring some more. The next room is oddly shaped with a glowing red archway and a glowing green archway. Chand enters to look at the archway and two large, white apes appear. They leave through the two exits and return, grappling Chand. One manages to pull Chand through one archway and out the other. Chand frees himself and runs back through the archways. The students decide not to pursue this room anymore. Cory cures the unconscious students, then they wait a few hours until they are up to speed. More exploring of the complex. They come upon a room where it appears that knives are thrown at gnomes strapped to spinning disks. Another room has a clockwork man which uses various appendages (including a chain, water canon, and yo-yo) to protect a large pile of gold. The next room is large and has a ghostly gnomish ball going on. As the students watch, a human mage appears and uses wands to paralyze and hold the gnomes. The images disappear. Then a ghostly silver dragon appears. He seems intent on killing Cory and the students discover he doesn't trust gnomes and was protecting whatever was behind the five doors from the gnomes. As the students leave, Cory is sucked through a wall in an alcove. The students discover he is held prisoner in a spherical light room. Matteo uses a spider legs to try to rescue him, but falls unconscious. Eventually, they decide there is nothing they can do for Cory and Matteo's spider legs spell doesn't cease.
Mirtil 30, 1375: The students decide to rest in the abandoned bedroom they found. A few hours later, those who are awake hear Cory calling out for help, though he's no where near. Darvin and Barnaby decide to attack the now magically held door to the ballroom, and discover damaging the door seems to damage the etherspirit of Cory. They return to the others and wait. Cory becomes more aware of the dungeon, as if he were now a part of it - in fact he can make it harder or easier to open certain doors. He lets the students know there's another being also part of the dungeon, in addition to some orcs wandering about. The students explore some more, discovering a long passage which seems to block Harold's way. Eventually, Harold lowers his spell resistance and is able to get through. The students find a large auditorium-like room. A fiery man appears demanding to know why they have disturbed him. The students start to attack but he fends them off with fire spells and a dozen fire minions. The students beat a hasty retreat. More exploration brings them to what the students discover is the same room. Somewhat better organized, they move in to confront the occupant of the large room. However, this time he is an electrical being with electrical minions. Barnaby dies, and Darvin and Chand are almost killed. The student do prevail and kill the energy being.
Mirtil 30-Kythorn 2, 1375: The students exit the complex to rest, then decide to press on in the middle of the night to return to school. They inform Wyland of what they know, and Elrylith as well. Barnaby is given a true ressurrection and tasked with 25 Favors to the school (Elry explains that the first Favor must be completed as assigned, with all incidental shares of treasure given over to the school. She also explains that any remaining Favors may be bought off at a price of 1100gp per Favor owed.) Since Barnaby, Matteo and Ignacio all owe Favors, Elry tells them they have an assignment in the morning. Chand does some magic item creation. The next day, Elry assigned the three (the others agree to go as well under the normal school assignment rules.) They are to head north to the Bit and Bridle Inn four days north of Neverwinter and check on the reports of a chimera harrassing the inn. The students decide to spend the night at the gnome keep to tell Wyland some more of what they know. When they arrive at just before duck, in a light rain, they discover Wyland's group assailed by gnolls. The students jump into the fray, lead by Darvin and Barnaby. It is a glorious battle for the most part, though Chand has a tense moment when he is surrounded by gnolls. Ignacio, Matteo and Harold help Chand while most of the gnolls are killed by the raging fighters.
