Crested Geckos are amazingly adorable. I think it's the big head thing and the way their toes curl back. They have great docile personalities, only get about ten inches total and live for around 20 years. They are easy to feed, requiring only insects and a pre-made powdered Crested Gecko diet. They require no special heat or lighting. They need to be misted twice a day in the morning and at night and they are nocturnal. Before they are sexually mature they can live in small colonies based on size. When they are adults at about a year old they can be housed in a 15-20 gallon tank, we use the clear 20 gallon tubs from Wal-Mart that have holes sodered in them. As adults there should be no more than 1 male and 2 females per colony. Even as young I would advise against putting more than four together at a time. They can become stressed and any larger babies can bully them. To reduce our chances of that we have decided to put everyone that isn't in a breeding colony into their own home. The babies under 2 months old are in 6qts, 3-5 months are in 12 qts, 6-8 months are in 20qts and any single males are in 27qt tubs. This all varies by size though so it is a good idea to have extra enclosures around just in case.
