How We Met

Matt and I met on July 4, 1996 at a mutual friend's party. We talked, laughed, and that night, we shared our first kiss. Not wanting to rush into anything, Matt and I became good friends spending a great deal of time together and just really enjoying each other's company. After only a month, Matt and I knew our relationship had grown to a new level of love and in August 1996 we made it official.

Our Engagement

Matt and I were planning a much needed vacation to Southern California. As rollercoaster enthusiasts, we decided to spend a couple days at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. After driving for 5 hours and spending an exciting day at the theme park, we settled in at the hotel and freshened up to go out to dinner. Being unfamiliar with the area, we ended up eating at a Claim Jumper (not the quiet, romantic place Matt had hoped for but we definitely made the best of it). Dinner was delicious and a lot of fun, we were very tired so we took dessert back to the hotel room. It was in the room when Matt got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Without any hesitation, and through my tears, I said, "yes".

Our engagement date was May 16, 2004. We are planning an August 20, 2005 wedding in Sacramento.

Engagement Party

We had a party to announce our engagement to our families and those participating in the wedding. The party was on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at our house.
