The End of the Club Year is Approaching

   C
onfucius says, "It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop."
Beverly says,  "It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not have a deadline!"
The end of the club year is only a few months away. We must pick up the pace to attain the President's Distinquished Club award for 2002-2003.  Delta Premier needs one (1) CTM, two (2) CL/AL, one (1) ATM, and six (6) new members.   We need to make sure our officers have the required training and club reports are submitted on time.    But, in order to accomplish the club goal, we have to accomplish our individual goals.
How many speeches do you need to present before the deadline to reach your goal?  Are you committed to achieving your goal? Have you signed up for roles for future meetings?
If we have speakers, we need evaluators, timers, etc.   Participating in all meeting roles is important in supporting our fellow Toastmasters and our club.
Confucious says, "The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential...these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence."
Beverly says,"You can't unlock the door to personal excellence if you don't USE YOUR KEYS!"

APPOSITIVES
An appositive is a noun or noun phrase that renames another noun. The appositive can be a short or long combination of words. For example:
The bug, a spider, is crawling across the floor.

The bug, a hugh spider, is crawling across the floor.

The bug, a hugh black spider with white spots, is crawling across the floor.

It is important to remember that a nonessential appositive is always separated from the rest of the sentence with comma(s).
