Riley and Mary's Youngest Child: Dwight Dudley Darling
Dwight Darling was born in 1869, and was Riley and Mary Darling's youngest child. He was listed on the 1870 Census as "Dudley" and was listed as "Dwight" on the 1870 Census. I believe they are the same person, since "Dudley" was 1 year old in 1860 and "Dwight" was 11 in 1970. Since Dwight's middle initial was "D", I can only assume that his middle name was Dudley. Dwight Darling died in 1888 at the age of 19. Apparently, he fell ill while living at Darling Farm with his sister Nellie and her husband George Sleggs. Georgia Feasel has George Sleggs' personal/farm diaries from that time period, and I will try to transcribe some information in the future.

Dwight Darling's Death Card. There were 5 of these in the box found by the Marquardt Children. One can only imagine the pain Riley and Mary had felt to lose 2 of their chilren (both sons).
