de Landa offers a contrast to Hardt and Negri’s use of Deleuze, because he believes Marxism to be a dead end. Apart from that his ontologysounds interesting in that it is based on the notion that the world is madeup of individuals – only differing on the basis of economies of scale –and each the result of a specific individuation process. The Ctheoryinterview has
some interesting stuff on this point – although there’s a lot ofcomplexity theory stuff to wade through. The economies of scale basis for individuation would seem to bypass the argument of individual vs community which tends often to be the ultimate outcome when thinking aboutAboriginal communities.
