| I found out yesterday that a really nice man that I have known for most of my life died yesterday. I will miss him. He had been sick for a while, so I hope hes okay, now. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Okay! I need to get with it! Im still typing the month as February. I have to back up and erase it every time. Well, as far as this weekend, it was really nice. On Saturday, I didt do much of anything. My friend Salatiel called and asked if I wanted to go anywhere, but really, I was pretty content in the house. Amazingly, I got a lot of work done on Saturday and I really hadnt planned on it. What I had planned on was maybe going somewhere on Saturday, like to Coatetelco to get some more fish. Well, I never could get into contact with Becky to see if she wanted to go, and I wasnt going to go alone, so I just stayed in the house and did work. The thing was, if Becky and I had gone to Coatetelco, we would have done work there because its really quiet, relaxing and pretty, and Becky always has work, so I know those are the only circumstances under which shed go. Plus, as good as the food is in Coatetelco, it takes forever for it to arrive, so while waiting for it, we could do work. Anyhow, it turned out fine because next Saturday will be better for that. We have our Phonetics exam next week, so Saturday will be good for studying for that. On Sunday, Becky and I went to church. It was nice, but the same boring man that spoke on Wednesday spoke again for the 10:30 service. Okay. Time for some honesty, here. Some things here really get on my nerves. Becky and I were having conversations about this and how sometimes you just cant ignore these things. For example, it really irritates me how in that church, a big church with all those people, there is no air conditioner. There are a few fans, going at about 5 rotations per minute, and thats it. As hot as it is here, it just seems to me like they could afford just one air conditioner, a window unit, at the least. Becky was saying that they dont get as hot here, which is somewhat true, becuase a lot of people here wear pants in the hot weather (I do too, though) and only the foreigners walk around in shorts. All this is true, but there were other people in the church fanning and looking hot. When I left, my skirt was soaked. This man beside me smelled bad, too, and at one point I had to sit down because the combination of the two nearly made me faint. I might have to start going to the 8:30 service, when it is cooler. I dont really want to do that, though. Anyhow, after church, Becky and I had planned on going to eat out at this chain restaurant here called California. Supposedly, it has a really good priced buffet. Well, we ran into her friends, Chris and Daniel, the people from Wednesday night, and they wanted to go, too. Theyre really nice and I enjoy talking to them because they are pretty much bilingual and can usually answer any questions when I get stuck. So, we ended up eating at another chain restaurant, called VIPS, which didnt have a buffett, but was still pretty good. I was so excited to eat there because there arent many chain restaurants here (like Applebees, Chils, that sort of thing). The restaurant was so nice and the bathrooms were nice and I was so happy to eat there. I recognized the food. Im sorry if this is sounding offensive, but I dont care, because its true. I have really missed the restaurants back at home, the kind where there is a standard for things, where its not just any random person running the place. Afterwards, we went and rented a movie to watch. A Knights Tale- anyone heard of it? Really cute movie. I wouldnt watch it twice, but I enjoyed it. Well, I am going now. Becky is trying to get together a birthday party tonight for our friend, Raul, from the church, so I need to get home to see what the deal is with that. More tomorrow! |
