next day's entry
I am honestly going to try to make this entry brief. I got out of class a little under an hour ago. I really like my Monday/Thursday classes. On these days I have Cultura de Mexico, Composicion, and Conversation. Excuse my spelling. A lot of times, I get Spanish and English mixed up, especially lately. Many words are similar, but not the same. For example, Pharmacy is Farmacia. Composition is Compocision in Spanish. For that reason, I intertwine the two by accident a lot when I am writing in English. Funny, I dont make the mistake too often in Spanish.
I have to get home soon because Charles is going to call tonight at 7. It was funny, I waited all yesterday to hear from him and never did. Not that it was a big effort or anything, I mean, since it was raining all day, I wasnt going to go out anyhow. Still, I was disappointed. So, I get online, post an entry, and in the middle of it, it was time to eat dinner. So, I left the internet on and came back and finished. Well, around 11 last night, I get a call and it was Charles! It turns out he has been trying to call for days. He had the wrong number. He had been calling somewhere in Brazil. He finally got up with me when he left the message Saturday, but tried since 3 yesterday to call. Well, my housefather got on the internet at 3 and stayed on for about 3 hours, and then I got on. Charles was worried. Anyhow, we talked for a while and I told him I had to go because we are not really supposed to receive calls after 10 (but my family is nice and didnt really say anything). Anyhow, he is calling back today and we arranged a time.
Something interesting- everyone knows my favorite food is tacos. I like to joke with my family and say that my favorite food is tacos-but not just any old tacos- tacos americanos! They laugh at that because I made it up (but it sounds pretty good in Spanish). Anyhow, last night, my housemother told me she was going to let me taste the real tacos. So I said, "sure!" They went and got them from a restaurant here. They were good, but really different. They are soft-shelled, which I knew, on a tortilla. They had sliced cow meat, onions, some green things, (maybe green onions), and came with green salsa or red salsa. They werent bad. Id eat them again, but I still like American tacos better. The beef had a really good flavor, but some parts had fat in it. I mean, it looked like it came right off of the cow, whatever thats supposed to mean. I dont know. A little too different for me. I think Ill just stick to my hamburger meat tacos. Anyhow, I better get going because it is getting dark and I like to get home before dark. Bye!
