next day's entry
Honestly, nothing of any major importance is going on here. I went to the grocery store yesterday, which I actually usually enjoy. I have to take the bus for like 20 minutes, through downtown and then a little further, but I like riding the bus sometimes and just looking out the window. I had to get a few things like toothpaste, shampoo, those kinds of things. I also ate a hotdog at this little setup outside of the grocery store that was part of the grocery store. They had a deal where for 9 pesos, which is about 1 dollar, you could get a hotdog, fries, and a small drink. Exciting, huh? Yeah, I was pretty glad to see that, though, because I actually kind of had wanted a hotdog. Moving along...
I just finished, well, I finished
starting on my Phonetics homework. I was in the cafeteria studying and trying to do the exercises for about 2 hours. It really wasnt that distracting of an environment, and the only reason I went to do it there was because I was already there after lunch and because sometimes, in the library, it can be noisier because people are talking and you are in closer proximity. In the library, when a few people are talking and the majority are not, you can hear it more. In the cafeteria, when all the people are talking, the sound just kind of blends into this one "noise" sound and you dont hear anything, or so I think. So, this is why I was studying in the cafeteria.
I didnt get much done. I didnt have a lot, but its just that reading the stuff is so time consuming and takes so much effort. Then, I had to do the exercises. I did one, and plan on doing the other 10 later. I had to get up and leave, though, because I was getting sleepy, so I figured Id just check my email and type an early entry today.
I intend on leaving right after class to go home today. Tonight, I am going to Grupo Familiar again, the bible study group at my friends house. I really liked it last week, and there is usually food. Plus, after what happened on Saturday, I figure I had better make sure they understand that I like them and am not trying to avoid them, because Im not. It was just a strange set of circumstances that caused us to miss on Saturday, I suppose.
Anyhow, I really wanted to finish my homework right now or at least before I leave because I know that I will probably be there (at Grupo Familiar) until late. I dont want to be, but usually it ends at 8:30, but then they talk and socialize for another hour and a half. I dont want to be the one trying to rush out and looking unsociable.
So, I think I will go now. See, I told you absolutely notihng exciting was happening. I havent heard from my friend, Ignacio, in almost a week. I dont know what the deal is. I dont know if he is still sick or what. My mother called last night, too, and Charles and I talked on the internet. He is not going to be able to come here. I dont know if I ever mentioned it, but we were trying to make plans for him to visit me. He doesnt have a passport yet, and may not get it by the time he tried to come here. Hopefully, Chelsey is still coming, though. My mother is sending me a package, with a lot of mail, and some other things I wanted. I cant wait to get it.
Okay. Time to go. If anything happens, Ill write something tomorrow!
