next day's entry
Dont be fooled by the face. Im not sad or anything, but I am not in such a mood that I would put the happy face, either. So, I settled for this one.
Nothing is really going on. I decided to write a little earlier today because I have some free time and will probably go straight home after my class. I need to wash clothes and do a couple of other things. Washing clothes is always somewhat of a process because I have to hang them on the line. I am not used to this, and therefore, am not exactly the speediest clothes hanger. I at least want to get them hung before it gets dark, so that maybe they will be dry tomorrow morning.
I got up early this morning to come to school to meet with a group to watch a movie for Conversation class. Well, some other teacher had the movie, so we couldnt watch it and have made half-hearted plans to watch it tomorrow. I say half-hearted because no one really wants to meet. Everybody was kind of like, "well, I guess we can meet tomorrow....maybe Ill come...I dont know..." So, I really dont know whether to show up myself because I will flip if I get up early again and no one is here. Really, Id rather just watch it with Ignacio because at least then I could have someone act as a translator and help me understand the film, but he is still sick.
This evening I am meeting with Becky to go over some homework for Phoetics class. I hate thinking about anything that has to do with that class. I really do. I dont want to strain my brain to think about this work- I just dont.  Remember I said I would post a question from the test? Okay, here it is:

Explique por qu no todas las variaciones tienen consecuencias en el plano fonolgico.

This translates into English as:

Explain why not all variations have consequences in the phonological plane?

Of course, when I see this, Im thinking, "interpretacion, please...what does this mean in English?" I had no answer for the question, so in my answer I repeated that not all variations had consequences in the phonological plane, and then made up something that made absolutely no sense for the rest of the answer. When we got our tests back, the teacher went over this one and went over my answer and read the first part and was like, "Okay, not all variations have consequences in the phonological plane...okay, this part is good, but I told you that" I was like, "Oh, yeah...you did" So then, she read the rest of my answer and asked what I meant and I was like, "Well, I didnt understand the question, so Im not really sure what I was talking about...I just wanted to put something down." It was so funny. Anyhow, she wasnt mad or anything, and is going to let me and Becky correct our tests. It was so funny, though, when Kahuna told us he was dropping the class, Becky was like, "Noo! You cant! We need you!" He was just staring at her, like, "Why? I dont know whats going on, either!" The day we got our tests back, I saw his grade- it was really good. I think I'm with Becky, now. Kahuna, where are you!?
