Miskatonic University Alumni Rally and Haiku Contest
2002's Cthulhu Rally sponsored by
Chaosium, Inc., included a haiku contest. (FYI: Haiku
is a japenese poem
consisting of three lines: five syllables in the first line,
seven
in the second, and five again in the third. Normally the topic is
supposed to be nature, but poets can use their own ideas.) The
contestant
who won literally screamed five syllables, then seven, then five more.
In the second round he created a haiku using the word
"obsidiann." Special thanks to Chaosium, and especially Charlie Krank
for the great fun!
The ceremonies begin with chants of "No more years!"

This woman came in second place, mainly because of her costume.
Yes, this is the same woman who was a scavenged item in
Capt.
Parks Scavenger Hunt .
The Haiku Contest contestants. The registration for the contest
was easy: they asked us if we had a haiku, and if we said yes,
they
gave us a red nose. Only people with red noses were allowed to
recite
Haiku. We all received toy medals for participation.
