The advertising for this event was irresistable, "Super Secret Cheapass Games Event." The real
inspiration was a board game named Capt. Park's Imaginary Polar
Expedition; See the Cheapass Games website (click on "Products")
for more info.
Captain Park claimed he had been to Antartica and "proved" it by
showing "artifacts" he collected on his travels, which he really
purchased in
shops in and around England.
Each contestant was given $5, a grocery bag, and instructions to buy or
find as many things as possible with the limited funds. Then we
went a bar and told of our "adventures" accumulating the items.
If anyone has any names for the people in these pictures, please contact me .
Alex Yeager giving us our instructions. Note the grocery bags.
A pair of guys actually convinced this woman to be one of their
scavenged items. She proudly displayed their other finds.
This contestant brought a sample of some exotic food. In reality,
it's a piece of Ramen Noodles.
Scoshi (I may have misspelled her name) told of her
travels through time from ancient Rome to modern day.
