Chapter 77: Ashley’s Pre-Race Meeting
Ashley headed to the Hollywood Hotel for the pre-race meeting there. When Ashley got there Chris, Jeff, Mike Joy, Larry Mac, Marty and Matt were there.
“Hello boys and girls,” Chris greeted them all.
“Good Morning Chris,” They all said back.
“Alright lets get started,” Chris started off the meeting.
“Alright,” DW said.
“First of all anybody seen the tape for ‘Ten laps with…’?” Chris asked. “We can’t find it.”
“I haven’t seen it,” Ashley answered.
“Found it!” Jeff called.
“Ok thanks Jeff,” Chris thanked him.
“Your welcome,” replied Jeff.
“Ok,” Chris said. “I want Ashley to interview Mikey since he was the 500 winner last year and he will be trying to be a 3 time 500 winner.”
“I would like to talk to Jr since he has dominated Speedweeks already,” Marty suggested.
“I would like to you to interview anyone you can think of ok?” Matt asked.
“Cut!” Ashley yelled. “Can me and Marty trade places?”
“Why do you want to trade places Ashley?” Chris asked.
“I have a personal reason that I discussed with my people,” Ashley explained.
“I am sorry but I already talked to the boss and he would like you to talk to Mikey,” Chris apologized. “Sorry.”
“Ok can I talk to the boss about these personal reasons?” Ashley requested.
“Sure,” Chris accepted.
“Thanks Chris,” Ashley thanked him. Then Chris got the boss of FOX and Ashley talked to him. “Sir I have nothing against Mikey yet I have some personal reasons with my people on why I want me and Marty to switch places. Can we?”
“Ok it will be fine with me,” the boss accepted.
“Thanks,” Ashley thanked him. “Marty you get Mikey while I get Jr.”
“Ok,” Marty said.
“Who do I get?” Matt asked.
“You can choose anybody you want,” Chris answered/
“Ok Kevin Harvick,” Matt made his choice.
“Ok,” Chris said.
“Of course you would pick him,” DW commented. “He’s your buddy.”
“Ok DW,” Matt said rolling his eyes.
“And DW you can say Boogity Boogity Boogity and make sure you get your hot spot chosen,” Chris told DW.
“Ok Chris,” DW said. “I already chose my hotspot for this week.”
“I have a question,” Ashley started. “Who’s on the ten laps with tape?”
“The person who is on the ten laps with is Jr,” Chris answered.
“And who did that game with him?” Jeff wondered.
“Me of course,” replied Chris.
“Riight,” Jeff said.
“Ok,” Chris said. “This is after the race. Marty I want you to interview the winner. Ashley I want you to interview the 2nd place winner and the 4th place winner and Matt I want you to interview the 3rd place and the 5th place winner ok?”
“What if Jr wins?” Ashley wondered.
“Its fine,” Chris assured her. “You can do the winner circle next week. But I want you to do the 2nd and 4th place winner this week ok?”
“Ok if you say so,” replied Ashley.
“Ok that’s it for the meeting,” Chris finished the meeting off.
“Lets have fun today,” Jeff told them. “Good bye!”
they all said good bye and left the Hollywood Hotel.
“Marty!” Ashley yelled. “Can I talk to you please?”
“Yes,” Marty answered. “What do you want Ashley?”
“If Jr can we trade spots and surprise Chris with the trade?” Ashley wondered. “And if he gets mad at us I’ll take full blame.”
“Please tell me why you want to interview Jr if he wins,” Marty requested. “I will not tell anyone about this.”
“Ok me and him got engaged last night,” Ashley finally let it out.
“And that’s why you want to interview him?” Marty double checked.
“Yes,” Ashley answered.
“Ok,” Marty said. “But I am going to do the winner of the race ok? Only if Jr wins you can do it ok?”
“Deal,” Ashley agreed. “Thanks Marty.”
“No problem,” replied Marty.
Then Ashley ran off.
