Chapter 78: Getting Ready
Ashley was getting ready for the pre-race show and saw Amanda coming.
�Hey Amanda,� Ashley yelled.
�Hey Ashley,� Amanda said as she walked over to where Ashley was. �Are you getting ready for the pre-race show?�
�Yes I am,� Ashley answered. �Are you getting ready for the race?�
�Yes,� replied Amanda.
�Well hope ya have fun today,� Ashley wished her.
�Thanks,� Amanda thanked her. �And you too.�
�Thanks,� replied Ashley.
�Well I better go and get ready to go to Mikey�s box and help out,� Amanda said.
�Alright then bye!� Ashley said.
�Bye!� Amanda said. So Amanda headed to Mikey�s pit box. While Amanda headed to Mikey�s box she saw Dalandra. �Hey Dalandra,�
�Hey Amanda,� Dalandra said.
�How are ya?� Amanda asked.
�I am doing good,� Dalandra answered. �And you?�
�I am also doing good,� replied Amanda.
�Are you getting ready for the race as I am?� Dalandra asked.
�Yes I am,� Amanda answered.
�Kool,� Dalandra commented. �Well I will let you go. I will talk with you later after the race ok?�
�Ok good luck bye,� replied Amanda.
�Bye!� Dalandra said.
So they parted their ways. When Amanda got to Mikey�s pit box she saw the crew getting ready. Then Mikey showed up.
�Hey guys,� Mikey said.
�Hey Mikey,� Slugger said.
�So are you ready for another win in Daytona today?� Mikey asked.
�Almost every time fox is here we get to party,� Slugger reminded him.
�I know,� Mikey agreed.
�And we have a good car,� Slugger added.
�Ok,� Mikey said. �Amanda is here to help you guys out.�
�Amanda what would you like to do?� Slugger asked.
�Well I don�t mind,� Amanda answered. �You can pick what you want me to do Slugger.�
�Well I�ve always learned to be nice to the ladies and let me say whatever you want to do is what your allowed to do,� Slugger explained to her.
�Well I don�t know what I want to do,� Amanda told Slugger.
�Hmmm what can you do,� Slugger thought. �Ahh I got a idea.� Slugger called one of the crew members over and said, �Amanda you will be helping this man out with making sure that the pit box has got everything in it. Share the checklist people.�
�Ok,� Amanda said. So Amanda went with the crew member.
�Thanks for letting her do something Slugger,� Mikey thanked Slugger.
�Ah we always can use a extra set of hands,� Slugger told Mikey.
�Ok,� Mikey said.
Meanwhile further down pit road in Jr.�s pit they were all chatting it up when Jr arrived.
�Did I miss anything?� Jr asked.
�No,� Tony Jr answered. �Why did you ask?�
�Well I could hear some chatting between you guys,� replied Jr.
�Ok,� Tony Jr said. �Well it just was about the set-up for today.�
�Ok,� Jr said.
While they were setting up in Jr.�s pit the concert was starting.
�Ok I�m going to go see the concert,� Jr told them. �You want to come?�
�Sure,� Tony Jr said. �You guys lets go see the concert.�
�Ok,� the crew said. Then they headed to the concert. When they got there they saw some of their friends.
�Hey Mikey and Kevin,� Jr said.
�Hey Jr,� Kevin and Mikey said.
They watched the concert together. When the concert was over they all headed back to their pits. They stood around their pits until it was time for driver introductions.
