Chapter 70: Ashley’s Meeting
Then Ashley went to the Hollywood hotel. When she got there Marty and Matt Yocum were standing there.
“Hi Marty and Matt,” Ashley said.
“Hey Ashley,” Marty and Matt said.
“Where’s Chris and Jeff?” Ashley asked.
“Chris had to go do something and Jeff is gone to talk to DW,” Matt said. “They said they’d be back in a minute.”
“Ok,” Ashley said.
Then Chris and Jeff walked in.
“Ok,” Chris said. “Lets start the meeting.”
“Me and Chris have been looking over your work on covering the races especially the Gatorade Duels,” Jeff started. “When Chris was in the production trailer he talked to are director and are producer.”
“Ok,” Ashley, Marty and Matt said.
“And Chris I’d like you to share what they said,” Jeff continued.
“Ok,” Chris said. “Are directed wasn’t to pleased on the Gatorade Duel deal. And what all went on with the interviews; especially your interview Ashley with race winner Jr. And Marty, I wasn’t too pleased with yours either.”
“Ok,” Ashley said. “What do I need to do to improve my interviews?”
“Well Marty I’d like you to improve your questions,” Chris answered. “And Ashley the directed actually would like to see you in the production trailer after this meeting to talk to you about it.”
“Ok,” Ashley said.
“And what did are producer say Chris?” Jeff asked.
“Ok,” Chris answered. “Matt you are doing very well with your interviews.”
“Thank you for the complement,” Matt thanked Chris.
“Your welcome Matt,” Chris said. “Well were here can I ask you a question dealing with the interviews?”
“Sure,” Jeff said. “Go right ahead Matt.”
“You guys know how me and Harvick always share jokes about DW and between each other right?” Matt started. “Well is that still allowed this year?”
“Yes it is still allowed this year Matt,” Jeff answered. “Did the producer say anything else?”
“No just wanted to see Ashley,” replied Chris.
“So both the producer and the director want to see me?” Ashley double checked.
“Yes,” Chris answered.
“Ok that’s fine with me,” Ashley said.
“The meeting is over; you guys can leave,” Chris said.
As they went out the door Ashley turned to Matt and asked, “Matt can you tell me where the production trailer is?”
“The production trailer is right next to the oval office,” Matt answered.
“Thanks Matt,” Ashley thanked Matt.
“Your welcome Ashley,” replied Matt.
Ashley then headed over to the to the production trailer. When Ashley got to the production trailer she went inside and waited for the producer.
The producer showed up and said, “Hi Ashley.”
“Hi,” Ashley said. “What do you need to see me about? Jeff and Chris sent me over here.”
“Me and the director want to talk to you about the Gatorade Duel interview over with you since we still can’t figure out parts of it,” the producer said.
“Ok,” Ashley said.
“So why was there a delay with the interview with Jr?” the producer asked.
“You need to ask Jr about that; I didn’t know that was happening,” Ashley answered. “Sorry.”
“Well why don’t you do us a favor and go get him?” the produced asked.
“Sure I will be right back,” Ashley said. Ashley then went outside the production trailer and called Jr.
“Yes what would you like sweetie?” Jr asked.
“You need to come to the fox production truck right now since they need to talk to you about something that I did with your interview,” Ashley told him.
“The Gatorade Duel interview?” Jr wondered.
“Yes sweetie,” Ashley answered.
“Ok I have my story set,” Jr told her.
“Ok I will meet you over here where I am at ok?” Ashley double checked.
“K,” replied Jr. Jr went to the production truck where Ashley was waiting for him to arrive. They went inside and meet up with the producer.
“Hi Jr,” the producer said. “Can you explain about what happened during the interview when Ashley was interviewing you?”
“Ok,” Jr started. “After the race Mikey found out something that was pretty like important deal at the time and something Mikey had to tell me. So Mikey got me and told me what happened. Now this deal that Mikey told me does with the deal with Jeff and Jimmie. So I mean I’m sorry I messed up the interview but it was important.
“Ok,” the producer said. “Thanks for letting us know about that Jr. Sorry that we called you in Ashley.”
“Its ok,” Ashley said.
“Ok you guys can go and Ashley…you can’t screw the interviews up anymore,” the producer told her.
“I’m sorry,” Ashley apologized.
“Ok,” the producer said. “Have a great day you guys. Bye!”
Ashley and Jr said bye and left. Jr let Ashley know that he was going to the garage to check out the car and Ashley let Jr know that she was going to see Amanda and Nicole.
“Ok I will see you later on bye!” Jr said.
“See ya tonight,” Ashley said. “Bye!”
Jr then went to check on the Busch car.
