Chapter 57: The Meeting with The Head of Motorsports
Then they walk to the place where they have the driver meetings. Mike Helton was standing outside waiting for them.
�Hi Mike,� Jr greeted Mike when he showed up.
�Hey Mike,� everyone else in Jr.�s group said.
�Hi all,� Mike greeted them. �Thanks for coming.�
�Your welcome,� everyone said.
�Ok I am going to let you know that you guys will come in and take a seat and then when they call you up just go up and tell them what happened and that is mainly it ok?� Mike explained to them.
�Ok,� everyone accepted.
Then after they had a little talk with Mike they went in and they all took a seat. They all waited for the head people to arrive and soon after they arrived.
�Here are the head people from the head of auto racing,� Mike introduced them. �I ask that both sides are patient.�
�Ok,� Jr.�s side said.
�Ok,� Jeff Gordon�s side said.
�Ok,� Mike said. �Lets get started.�
�I think my side should go first since we are the ones complaining,� Rick requested.
�Ok,� Mike accepted. �Rick Hendrick, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon will you come up please?�
Rick Hendrick, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon came up to the front. When they got to the front, Rick Hendrick started talking.
�My complaint is that my two drivers Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon shouldn�t be banned from the Daytona 500 because of a simple deal like the one they have been having with Dale Jr and friends,� Rick started. �And also it is enough to ban us from the Daytona but oh no NASCAR president Mike Helton had to also tell the police. Now I am very disappointed in their actions but I think this punessment is way to harsh?�
�What did they do to not be in the Daytona 500?� One of the head people asked.
�Well why doesn�t Jimmie and Jeff answer that question themselves,� Rick suggested.
�Ok lets have Jeff tell you what happen,� Mike accepted Rick�s idea.
�Well lots of different scenarios happened in fact but they all did with us bothering Dale Jr and Kevin Harvick,� Jeff explained. �The object of bothering them the way we are is we are trying to teach them a lesson.�
�Why do you want to teach Dale Jr and Kevin Harvick a lesson?� Mike asked.
�We wanted to teach them a lesson that does with trust and respect,� Jeff answered.
�Ok,� Mike said. �Anything else?�
�Jeff and Jimmie, what is the lesson that you were trying to teach Dale Earnhardt Jr and Kevin Harvick?� one of the head people asked.
�It just me and Jeff didn�t like it when they made up after the crash at California last year,� Jimmie explained.
�Why?� one of the head people questioned.
�Because we just didn�t,� Jimmie answered.
�Ok,� one of the head people said.
�Is that it not Rick?� Mike asked Rick.
�That is the reason but I know for a fact that Jimmie also doesn�t like how the RCR and DEI cars are dominating the plate tracks,� Rick answered.
�Why?� Mike questioned.
�Because they are cheating and you won�t admit that you are letting them,� Jimmie told Mike.
�Ok,� Mike said. �Your time is up. Dale Jr and his friends please come up and let them know what is going on.�
�Well Robby Gordon has written a paper up on it so shall we give it to you to read over?� Jr offered.
�Ok,� Mike accepted. �Robby can you let us know what happened?�
Robby gave them the paper and said, �That paper has all the scenarios and at the end it has all the injuries that we have suffered from all the scenarios.�
�Ok,� the head people said. �Thanks Robby.�
�Your welcome but I have to give credit to Amanda and Dale Jr for giving me the stories since I kind of forgot them,� Robby added.
�Ok,� one of the head people said. �Thanks. We will make our decision soon.�
�And if you have any questions go ahead and ask,� Jr added.
�Ok,� the head people said. They all waited until they were done reading the article. After they were done reading the article they had one question to ask Jr. �Dale Jr what all happened at California to start this deal? Like what happened between you and Kevin?�
�I crashed after Kevin hit me by accident and then�.,� Jr started.
�I�ll continue Jr,� Kevin interrupted. �And then he got hurt. He ended up hurting his ankle; I also ended up wrecking. So after he was back in the motor coach, I went and saw him to see if he was ok. I told him my side and he told me his side. So we then made up. That�s it. Now with most drivers we�d probably wouldn�t do that but we did because we got through a really hard time in 2001 together.�
�Ok,� the head people said.
�Need anymore details?� Jr asked.
�I think it would be fine�we got all the information,� one of the head people reported to Jr.
�Ok,� Jr said.
�Ok,� Mike said. �You guys can go but I want you to come back tomorrow morning and see what the head people have to say.�
�Ok,� everyone aid.
Then they all left.
