Chapter 19: After the Budwhiser Shootout
�What a race!� Ashley said. �How�d you win that one near the end?�
�It was just a plan that I had to win the race,� replied Jr.
�Well, with this win, do you think you could win the 500?� Ashley asked.
�Yes we do,� replied Jr.
�Well, lets go to Marty who�s with Mikey,� Ashley said.
�Great run Mikey,� Marty commented. �How was the car running tonight?�
�It was awesome,� answered Mikey. �I really think I could have passed Jr but I want to save that for the 500.�
�Ok,� Marty said. �Thanks Mikey...let�s go to Matt who is with Jimmie Johnson.�
�Well, thanks Marty,� Matt said. �I�m with Johnson who finished 4th. How was your car tonight?�
�The car ran good tonight but it can�t keep up with the DEI cars,� replied Jimmie.
�But if the race was longer, could you have passed Harvick for third?� wondered Matt.
�Yes,� answered Jimmie.
�Well, lets go to the lady or man who is standing with Kevin Harvick since I haven�t been told who yet.� Matt said.
�Thanks Matt,� Ashley said. �So Kevin, how was your car tonight?�
�It was good,� replied Kevin. �I could run with the DEI cars but I don�t know if I could pass them.�
�Can you pass them in the 500 on Sunday?� asked Ashley.
�That is what I don�t know,� Kevin started. �If I�m safely in the 500 after tomorrow�s qualifying, I�ll try in the 125s if we are all in the same one.�
�Ok,� Ashley said. �Thanks Kevin. Back to you guys in the booth.�
After they were off air, Kevin called Ash over to ask if she could pass a message to Jr and Mikey.
�Sure you can,� Ashley said. �What is the message?�
�Well, here it is,� Kevin started. �Tell them both that I�m ready for a game of onion rings at Sonics and also ask when do they want to get together to do the contest for 2004. Thanks Ash!�
�Ok,� replied Ashley. �I will let them know. Bye Kevin.�
Then Ashley went over to Jr and told him what Kevin said to him.
�Awesome,� Jr replied. �Well, I�ll have to tell Mikey and we will talk bout it together and decided a time with Kevin.�
�Ok,� Ashley said.
�You have fun tonight?� Jr asked.
�I had a blast tonight Jr,� replied Ashley. �I really enjoyed it.�
�That�s kool,� Jr said. �I had fun with this. This plan might work for the Daytona 500 but I�ll have to see when the time comes.�
�Ok,� Ashley said.
�Well, I promised Mikey I�d talk to him after and better pass the message so I�m gonna go talk to him,� Jr says. �Wanna come and maybe you could talk with Amanda?�
�Sure,� replied Ashley.
They walked over to Mikey�s pit stall where Mikey and Amanda were standing together.
�Hi Mikey and Amanda,� Jr said. �Here is the money that I owed you Mikey.�
�Thanks,� replied Mikey. �Ty said that he was just talking to Jeff Gordon but he wouldn�t listen so he said he�ll talk to Rick well we all just chill.�
�Ok,� Jr said.
�I loved that plan,� Mikey changed the topic. �Your smart. Ne wayz, NASCAR check your car yet? Since if they have checked yours, their getting mine next.�
�The last time I looked, NASCAR had just begun checking my car out,� JR said.
�Oh,� Mikey said. �Kool.�
�Yep,� Jr said. �So, Amanda�did you enjoy the race??
�Yep,� replied Amanda.
�That is good to hear,� Jr said. �Mikey, did you talk to Kevin before bout the onion ring contest because I didn�t know anything till Ashley told me what Kevin told her to pass to me?�
�No,� answered Mikey. �He hasn�t told me anything yet.�
�Huh, because he said to Ashley to tell me and you he�s ready for the onion ring contest at Sonics and he wants to set a time with us,� Jr explained.
�Ok,� Mikey said. �I think after the 125s we can do it.�
�Yea, on Thursday so we have time to practice for it since I didn�t know anything bout this till today,� JR agreed. �I�ll tell Kevin after or you can do it.�
�Ok,� Mikey said. �You can tell him.�
�Alrighty then,� replied Jr. �So, anything you have to tell me about or a topic we can talk about? Um, sorry to leave you wonderful ladies out of are conversation.�
�Its ok,� Ashley said. �Its getting late and Amanda & I are going to head back to the hotel.�
Jr and Mikey gave them a hug and said, �Ok, bye ladies.�
�Bye Mikey and Jr,� Ashley and Amanda said together. �See you later at the hotel.�
The girls leave and the men continue talking about stuff. Then Jr just looked over his shoulder and Kevin was walking by.
�Kevin!� Jr yelled. �Come here, we have to tell you something!�
Kevin walked over to Jr and Mikey and said, �Hi Mikey and Jr. Did you get my message that I told Ashley?�
�Yes and are plan is we do it after the 125s,� replied Jr.
�Sure,� Kevin said. �We can do it after the 125s on Thursday.�
�You still friends with Jimmie?� wondered Mikey.
�Kind of but not really,� replied Kevin.
�I see because if you were, I�d ask for a little favor but nevermind,� Jr said.
�Ok,� says Kevin.
�Can I still hear that plan you had because I might get Kenny to do it?� asked Mikey.
�I�ll let you both hear it since we might be able to improve,� Jr said. �You know Johnson has been saying stuff about DEI? Well, here�s my plan. We get one of our friends that is his friend to go and ask him about it.�
�Ok,� Mikey said.
�Any ideas on a person?� wondered Jr.
�I was thinking Robby Gordon,� replied Mikey.
�And I�m not friends with Robby,� Jr reminded Mikey. �Are you Mikey?�
�Yes I am,� Mikey said.
�Kevin, do you know where Robby is?� Jr asked.
�I think he is still at his trailer,� replied Kevin.
�I�ll go get him,� Mikey said.
�Ok,� replies Jr.
Mikey ran off well Jr and Harvick were talking bout stuff. When mikey got to Robby�s trailer�he was still there.
�Hi Robby,� Mikey said. �Can I talk with you for a minute?�
�Sure,� replied Robby. �I was bored anyways.
�Ok,� Mikey started. �Jr, Kevin and I were thinking of a plan about Jimmie since he is dissing DEI.�
�Oh my gosh�I heard so much and I�m sick of it,� replied Robby. �So, what do I have to do to help out? I�d do anything since I�m sticking with you. This will be RAD vs. Johnson.�
�Lets talk about our plan with Jr and Kevin since they are waiting for me to get back,� Mikey suggested.
�Ok,� Robby agreed.
So, Mikey and Robby walked over to Kevin and Jr who were still talking
�Um, boys.� Mikey interrupted their conversation. �Robby is here and he is sticking with us. He says its RAD vs. Johnson. Now, Jr, since its your plan, why don�t you say it?�
Jr then told Robby about the plan.
�Alright,� Robby agreed with the plan. �Can I add something?�
�Ok,� replied Jr.
�Ok, why don�t we get speaker for me and I�ll wear them but kind of hid them so Johnson can�t see them and you have a thing that you can hear because you will hear the ear phones. Its like a walkie talkie system.�
�Ok,� Jr said. �That is not a bad idea Robby.�
�I don�t have that,� Mikey said. �Anybody here have that kind of system?�
�I don�t know if anyone here has that kind of system here except for Robby,� answered Jr.
�Well, I do have it but I was told to keep it hidden,� Robby started. �So, if you all come with me, we will sneak the speaker into my pocket and you will stay in my trailer. If Richard comes to get me, stay still and don�t answer the door, ok?�
Everyone said ok. They all walked back to his trailer and entered the trailer and saw what Robby was talking about. They set it all up. Robby left to find Johnson well Mikey, Kevin and Jr sat on the couch. While Robby went to find Jimmie, someone was knocking at the door. Mikey peeked out the curtain and saw it was Ty. He asked the others if Ty should be allowed in.
�We should since he�s kind of in the Johnson vs. RAD,� Jr said.
�Ok,� Mikey said. Then he answers the door and Ty was there. �You can come in Ty.�
�Can someone fill me in before I fill you in?� asked Ty.
Jr was letting Ty know what they were doing.
�Awesome plan,� Ty commented. �Now, I told Rick Hendrick and he said he doesn�t care so I was gonna think of something good to fire back at him but this we will do first and then see what comes out of it. Shh�I heard Robby calling Johnson from this thing.� Then Ty shut up while they were listening to Robby calling Jimmie.
�Yes Robby,� Jimmie said.
�Why are you dissing DEI?� Robby asked. �I am just wondering.�
�Well, you know how they have been dominating�wouldn�t you think they�d be cheating and the only way to get under their skin is to get them angry with the disses bout it so they�d surrender?� Jimmie explained.
Back in the trailer�when Jr heard what Jimmie had to say�he got so mad at Jimmie so Jr was starting to make up a new plan.
�Lets diss his ass and he�ll surrender,� Jr said.
�Ok,� Mikey agreed.
�What would we say?� Ty wondered.
�I don�t really know,� answered Kevin. �Do you have any ideas Ty?�
�No,� replied Ty. �It toke me a week to think of the Rusty ones.�
�Ok,� Kevin said. �Do you have any ideas Mikey or Jr?�
�Nope�Mikey?� Jr said.
�I can�t think of any right now Jr,� replies Mikey.
�Sh�I hear something interesting Jr,� Ty said.
�What do you hear Ty?� wondered Jr.
�Jr and Kevin, come here and listen right now,� Ty instructed. �This is something you wouldn�t be expecting.�
They all got close to the thing and listened in on what Jimmie had to say also.
�Well, that�s your opinion,� Robby started. �I mean, I really thought it was kool to see them make up and I mean, I�m not mad at Kevin for that. Gosh, those two are like best friends.�
�Ok,� replied Jimmie. �But I will talk to Jr about all of this sometime.�
�What?� Robby questioned. �You don�t think I know Kevin good?�
�No I don�t think that you know Kevin that good,� replied Jimmie.
�Well, you can talk to Jr later and ask him about his relationship with Kevin and you will find the same answer,� Robby explained.
�Ok,� Jimmie said.
�Well, I got to go so see ya later,� Robby said and then left.
Then Robby went back to the trailer.
He went in and saw that Jr & Kevin were pissed off what Jimmie said about them.
�Are you still pissed off with what Jimmie said about you and Kevin?� Robby asked Jr.
�Oh yes,� replied Jr.
�Ok,� Robby said. �I think my plan kind of worked. Anymore ideas?�
�Well, first things first,� Jr said. �I�m gonna go in the garage with Kevin and act like we don�t know anything and then Johnson will talk to us. Anyone have a better plan?�
�I can�t think of a plan,� replied Mikey. �What about you Ty?�
�I was thinking of something but it might work or might not work,� answered Ty.
�Lets go with Jr.�s idea so we can get the better idea and then seek revenge,� Kevin suggested.
�Alright, bye,� Jr said. �Um Robby, me and Kevin were thinking of doing a plan now so can we borrow that system and then Mikey and Ty can hear the whole thing that goes on?�
�Ok,� Robby said. �You can.�
�Thanks Robby,� Jr said.
�I think you guys are beginning a friendship,� Kevin said. �Jr, lets go.�
�Ok,� Jr said.
So they left the trailer and went to Jr.�s trailer.
�Ok, Ty and Mikey will hide out here,� Jr started. �Me and Kevin are going to walk by Johnson�s trailer to Kevin�s and see if we can get anything going?�
�Ok,� Ty agreed. �Can we wait until the morning?�
�Ty, lets do it in the morning,� replied Kevin. �Jr, you and me will both come out of our trailers and meet at the huge pole. Mikey and Ty can get together real early with Robby and listen in.�
�Ok,� Ty agreed. �Well, see you guys in the morning. Bye.�
Everyone said bye to each other and went to bed in their trailers.
