Chapter 18: The Budwhiser Shootout
The race was about to start but it didn�t because the hulk invaded the stands.
Jr called to his spotter and saying, �What is going on? Why didn�t the green flag wave yet?�
�The hulk has invaded the stands and they didn�t want it to start because of that fact,� Ty explained.
�Ok,� Jr said. �I didn�t see anything.� When he comes around again�jr notices the hulk in the stands. �Never knew that guy was that big!� Then Jr called Mikey since they can talk to each other, �Mikey? Do you see why the race didn�t get started yet?�
�Oh yea,� Mikey replies. �Big green monster. Is that the hulk or Frankenstein?�
�Mikey�the big green monster is the hulk,� replies Jr.
�Well, I was stuck because I haven�t seen either cartoon,� Mikey explains.
�Ok,� Jr says.
Alright, I�m outta here and I�m gonna go through the tunnel because he�s given me the creeps,� Ty says. �Hey Mr. backstretch spotter, keep your eyes on Jr.�
�Ok,� the backstretch spotter said. �I will Ty.�
Ty came running through the tunnel and when he got to Jr.�s pit, the NASCAR official gave him a nasty look.
�Do you see the hulk in the grand stands?� Ty says to the NASCAR official and the NASCAR official looks up and he can�t find the hulk anywhere in the grand stands. �Well, NASCAR reported the hulk so where the hell is that damn guy now? Back stretch spotter�DEI drivers�find the hulk.�
Mikey, Jr, and both of their back stretch spotters can�t find the hulk anywhere.
And then Jeff Green called in and said, �I think that he left.� And his back stretch spotter agreed with Jeff since they can�t find him anywhere.
�He better of,� Ty screamed. �Ok, I�m gonna go back up.� Then he went back up where the rest of the spotters are. Then he called down to Jr and said, �Ok. The race will be starting shortly.�
�10-4!� Jr says.
Then after they went around a few times, the green flag fell. Dale Jr took the lead and after 15 laps of leading, Mikey took the lead for awhile. They kept taking turns till it was break time. When it was break time, Dale Jr was in the lead then Mikey and then Jimmie Johnson. When Jr and Mikey were taking during break, they could hear Jimmie talking more plate shit about DEI.
Jr got so mad at Jimmie and then he walked over to Jimmie and asked him, �Why are you talking about DEI?�
�Well, its time that you were brave enough to ask,� Jimmie replied. �Listen, you guys are cheating, period.�
�We are not cheating,� Jr countered. �Ok? Our cars are the best at the plate tracks.�
�Like I can trust you guys!� Jimmie replied. �Oh, can you explain further?�
�Ok,� Jr accepted Jimmie�s offer. �Our cars are running best at Daytona and Dega then anywhere else.�
�Well, I have one little thing to say�I suggest you stop cheating before NASCAR gives you big shit!� Jimmie said.
�Ok,� Jr said. Then Jr walked away and let Mikey know what Jimmie said about them.
�If he doesn�t stop, were telling Ty and Ty will give him shit just like he did to Rusty,� Mikey said.
Jr over heard Jimmie about DEI again before they got back into the car. Then when Dale Jr got hooked back up into his car, he let Ty know what Jimmie said about DEI.�
� Alright,� Ty said. �I�ll go have a talk with Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon. If that doesn�t solve it, he�s getting it.�
�Ok,� Jr said. �Thanks Ty!�
�Your welcome,� Ty said. �Tony, testing�pops and Sniffy, do you hear me loud and clear because if not, I�ll change the batteries.�
�I hear you loud and clear, Ty,� Jr said.
�I can hear you�Tony Jr?� Tony Eury said.
�I can hear you,� Tony Jr said.
�Alright, now, lets go get the money,� Ty said.
�10-4,� Jr said.
�Star the car, their starting to roll off when all the officials put their arm up which means start the car,� Tony Jr ordered. �Now, isn�t it bling bling?�
All the cars left the pit road to warm up their cars and tires before the green flag drops.
�Listen, lets play smart,� Jr said. �Got a question, are we eliminating cars at a curtain point or no? And Tony Jr, yes it is bling bling but leave Ty be.�
�Well, are we eliminating cars Ty?� Tony Jr asked Ty since he didn�t know the answered.
�No we are not going to be eliminating cars tonight,� replied Ty.
�Alright,� Jr said. �Now, I see the flag man saying 1 more lap of causion then lets get ready to race this car home first.�
�10-4 Jr,� Tony Jr said.
They did the extra pace lap and then the pace car pealed off. The green flag waved and they were back racing again. Jr took the lead with Mikey and JJ right behind. Then Mikey let JJ past him to get 2nd from Mikey. Then JJ was on Jr.�s bumper. The three started to pull away with Harvick joining them. After they were far from the rest of the pack, Mikey got JJ loose and went back by for 2nd and Harvick followed Mikey and JJ was back in 4th place. They kept content till it was 5 to go. Then some of the other drivers caught up to them and JJ went back further. Harvick started to go below Mikey for 2nd with Steve Park right behind. Harvick passed Mikey for 2nd and Steve Park was still behind Mikey. With 4 to go, the top 4 were Jr, Harvick, Mikey and Steve. Steve got very loose and then he crashed into the wall so the causion flag was flown. During the red flag, that NASCAR put out, Jr switched over to his and Mikey�s channel. Jr was talking about his plan to win the Bud Shootout to Mikey.
�But I will let you finished 2nd?� Jr said.
�Ok,� replied Mikey. �I will try to pass Harvick.�
�It�s probally gonna be a one lap shootout so my plan is mess Harvick up like we did to JJ,� Jr explained. �Keep going high and low. Remember, if he blocks low, go high with me and if he blocks high, go low with me. I�ll watch in my rear-view mirror.�
�Ok,� says Mikey.
�Good luck,� Jr said. �We will do this together. Listen, I�m gonna switch over and talk to Ty. Hey, do you where are other bud Jeff Green is?�
�I think that he is in 15th place,� answered Mikey.
�So if they have TBO like they usually do when it�s a quick restart, he might get up front,� Jr thought. �Alright, I�m switching over since I can hear beeps from my crew.�
�Ok,� replied Mikey. �I will talk with you after the race.�
�Gotcha dude!� Jr said. Jr then switched over to the crew�s channel and said, �Alright, who wants to tell me something because I have a plan to tell Ty bout?�
�I didn�t want to tell you anything,� answered Tony Jr. �I think Ty wants to let you know something.�
�Ty?� Jr asked. �Anything to tell me or can I say my perfect plan?�
�You can tell me about your perfect plan 1st,� Ty said.
�I�m gonna hold off Harvick and get Mikey to second,� Jr started. �Now, here�s where I need your help. When I try to go high and away from Harvick, tell me where Harvick is so I can make sure I mess him up, ok?�
�10-4 Jr,� replied Ty. �I was thinking about the same thing about the plan to get Mikey up to 2nd.�
�Ok,� Jr said. �Yeah, that�s what me and Mikey were talking bout. So, you have anything to tell me?�
�Good luck, and get the checker flag,� replied Ty.
�Alrighty Mr. vice president,� Jr joked. �Hey, I better since vice is spotter and Teresa is here.�
�Ok,� Ty said.
NASCAR toke the red out and said one more pace lap and then it�s a one lap shootout. Then with one lap left�the green flag dropped and Mikey got on Harvick�s bumper and got him loose then Mikey was in 2nd place. They drafted down the backstretch and into turn 3. when they came off turn 4, the checker flag waved and Jr won the Bud shootout and then Mikey came in 2nd. Jr screamed and switched over quickly to chat with Mikey bout that before he did his celebration donuts and so on. Then Jr went to victory lane to celebrate his win. Tony Jr. gave Jr a big hug! Ashley then interviewed Jr about his win.
