Chapter 17: Before the Budwhiser Shootout
The next morning, she got up and put on her favourite outfit. Then she went to have some breakfast before she headed to the track. She ate bacon and eggs. She then went to the track and decided to go to the bud garage. When she got to the garage�jr was already there talking to Tony Jr. She walked over to where they were talking and listened in.
When Jr turned around, he saw Ashley just standing there and said, �Good morning Ashley.�
�Good morning,� Ashley said.
Then he let Tony jr know that he will talk to him later. Then Jr turned back to Ashley and said, �How did you sleep last night Ashley?�
�Good,� Ashley said. �Had the best dream. How did you sleep?�
�I slept good last night,� Jr said.
�That�s nice,� Ashley said.
�What was your dream about?� Jr wondered.
�You winning tonight�s race,� Ashley said.
�Kool,� Jr said.
�Anyways, I�ll let you get back to what you were doing since I�m going to go see Amanda.� Ashley said.
�Ok,� Jr said. �I will see you later. Bye.�
�Bye,� Ashley said. Ashley then walked over to Mikey�s garage to see if Amanda was there. Ashley found Mikey and asked, �Have you seem Amanda?�
�Yes, she is in my trailer,� Mikey told Ashley.
Ashley then went to Mikey�s trailer and knocks on the door.
Amanda answers the door and saw Ashley. Amanda says, �Hi Ashley.�
�Hello,� Ashley says.
�How are you?� Amanda asks.
�Ok,� replies Ashley. �How are you?�
�I am doing fine,� answers Amanda.
�That�s good,� Ashley said.
�What is your plans for today anyway?� Amanda asks.
�Nothing so far but I know that race coverage starts at 6:30pm with the pre-race.� Ashley replies.
�Ok,� Amanda says
�Do you have any plans?� Ashley asks.
�Not really, just going to watch the bud shootout tonight,� Amanda replies.
�In Mikey�s pit?� Ashley double checks.
�Yes,� Amanda assures her.
�Are Mikey and Jr.�s pit close together tonight since I know for sure I�m doing Jr.�s end tonight,� Ashley wonders.
�I think that they are close together but I am not sure,� Amanda says
�Have to check the pit layout when I get it,� Ashley says.
�Ok,� Amanda says.
�But I�ll let you know,� Ashley says
�Ok,� Amanda says. �Well, I need to head back to the hotel for a few and get my Mikey coat. I will talk to you later. Bye!�
�Bye!� Ashley says. Then she went to see Jr. �Well, you think you have a shot tonight?�
�I think that we have a shot tonight because we have a great car,� replies Jr.
�Nice!� Ashley says. �Chris said I could do your end of the pits for the whole year, no matter what area you�re in.�
�Ok,� Jr says. �Well, I better go to the meeting before the race.
�Ok then,� Ashley says. �I�m gonna go get the pit box sheet to see who I have for the night.�
�Ok,� Jr says. �I will see you later.�
�Fine with me,� Ashley says. �Bye!�
�Bye,� Jr says. Then he walked to the drivers meeting place where all the drivers met. He saw Mikey there talking with his other teammate Jeff Green since there were still 5 minutes before the meeting. They were thinking of a plan for there to be a bud open. There plan ended up coming together and in the meeting, Rusty and Rudd explained the whole thing.
�We want a bud open for us unlucky guys like we have for the Winston open,� Rusty explained. �Like, have the top 3 qualify.�
�How would you like to be us?� Rudd added.
Mike Helton accepted and everybody got ready for the rest. Well everyone was getting ready, Mikey and Jr made their bets on the top 3.
�Rusty, Rudd, Elliot,� Jr says.
�Green, Rusty, Rudd,� Mikey says.
In the bud open, Green was leading but then had a lil power failure. So he dropped back to 3rd. The finishing order was��Rusty, Rudd and Green.
Mikey and Dale Jr figured out a way to split their bet pay out. The bud shootout introductions started.
When Mikey and Dale Jr went and did their introduction�Mikey said, �You can pay me after the race, ok?�
�Fine,� Jr said. �After I win.�
�Ok,� Mikey said.
Then they said good luck to each other and then got into their cars to get ready to race. Ashley gave Jr a quick good luck kiss and then went back to her spot. And Amanda did the same thing but she went back up to the sheet where the crew chief sits. Ashley gave a wave to her since Jr and Mikey�s pit stalls were right beside each other and Amanda waved back to Ashley.
