He, too, is in a daydream. (He is dressed in baggy clothes and running madly through the school destroying everything in his place. He runs and stands on a desk and shouts: I am invincible! He breaks out of the daydream, smiling. Sean bumps into him.) Sean: Watch it. (JT runs off. Sean goes into his daydream. He is in a huge house and a bunch of presents are under the tree. His parents are hugging him and telling him they love him. He breaks out of it) Ellie: Hey, Sean. Sean: He, Ellie. Ellie: Listen. Call me tonight. Or, er, I'll call you- either way. Jimmy: Woe, Spin, did you forget to take your meds today or something. SPinner: Hey shut up. I'm just saying- not everyone wants to hear about your richie rich christmas presents, okay? Jimmy: Oooo someone's jealous. Remember last time you were jealoius- you stole my mp3 player. SPinner: You're still mad about that? Jimmy: Well, what are you gonna still my car this time? Spinner: That's not fair, Jimmy. Jimmy: Well alot of things aren't fair. I hardly ever see my parents. You got it all, Spin- good parents, all the girls, and a great job. Spinner: Well, you got a dad who will buy you whatever you want. Jimmy: It doesn't matter. I would kill for your job. Spinner: Why do you need a job- you got your dad. Jimmy: (whispering) I want to do something special for Hazel this christmas. Spinner: Oh, wow. Jimmy: Yeah. SPinner: Okay, listen, Jimmy, I can probably get you a job at the dealorship- that'd be fun- you and me working together. Jimmy: Yeah. And Spinner, having a dad who gives me stuff isn't really the greatest thing in the world. Nothing can replace parental love- and that's what you got. I never even see my parents. Spinner: I never really thought of that. I'm sorry, Jimmy. Jimmy: Yeah, me, too, man. SPinner: Well, when you get your car we are going on so many road trips! Jimmy: YOu know it! Terri: No. Paige: Uh, yeah, your grades, your boyfriend. I want to have those things. Terri: Rick doesn't even talk to me anymore, Paige. Spinner really loves you- he’s getting you an amazing present for Christmas! Paige: That doesn't matter, Terri. I would kill for your grades. Terri: All I want is to be loved by someone. Paige: And all I want is to pass English. (pauses) I have an idea- I get Rick to be a better boyfriend to you and you tutor me in English. Terri: Uh, I don't know. Paige: Come on, Terri. It will make us both feel alot happier this Christmas. Terri: Okay, Paige. Whatever. |
