| Aubree raced down the stairs from her apartment and knocked endlessly on Alex's door. His grandmother opened the door with a warm smile. Aubree giggled and twisted her long, dark brown hair around her finger. "Can Alex come out and play, pleeeeease?" Before she could answer he poked his head out the door and was pulled out into the summer heat. "Follow me," she yelled back to Alex as she took off running. He followed her like he did everyday for the past 3 years they have been friends. He chased her out of the apartment complex, to the end of the street, into the group of trees that made a cool spot in the river. Aubree climbed onto the big rock the two use to jump into the river. A breathless Alex sat next to her, "Do we always have to run all the way here?" "Quiet!" She took his hand in hers. "I just want to remember this place." The two 7 year olds sat on the big rock and watched the calm river go by. A few moments later, Aubree took a deep breath and punched Alex on the arm just before jumping in the water. He rubbed his arm as he watched her tredwater. "Hey Alex? Do you think we'll always be friends?" "Yea sure." "You promise?" "Yes. I promise." "Even if we don't live near each other, do you promise?" "Yes. I promise." She got out of the water and sat back down next to him on the rock. She put his hand back in hers and put her head on his shoulder. "Even if my parents move me and my sister to California, do you promise?" "Yes, 'Bree. I promise. We'll always be friends." ~*12 years later*~ "Okay guys. That's good for today. Remember to practice the new routine, and please, remember to count off. See you all tomorrow. Aubree, can I talk to you?" "Sure Jake. What's up?" "I didn't want to tell the whole class but there are some job offerings for dancers." "Really? Where?" "Well its down in Orlando, Florida. I worked with Fatima- you know her right?" "I've heard of her." "Anyways. So she's working with this new boy band, I don't know the name, but they are in need of some backup dancers and she's asked me for my top 6 students. You, Cassandra, Missy, Ryan, Dave, and Terrance are my choices. They've all agreed." "You want me to dance for a boy band?" Aubree was not impressed. Boy bands were like the dirt on her shoe. She shook her head and gathered her things in her backpack and slipped it on her shoulder. "You don't like the idea?" "Its a boy band, Jake! All these little teenie boppers running around screaming their heads off...'AHHHHH I love you! I love you! You don't know me but I love you!'" She thought for a second. "I'll do it! Its going to be a quick ride around the park. Boy bands don't last so what makes this one so special that they will stay forever. Plus it will look good on my profile, so I'll do it."
