| IT ALL STARTED.... |
| Dominic, my husband took me to the nearest parking lot. Here I learned the FEEL of my bike. I started with learning where all the controls were, balanceing ( which is easy if you know how to ride a bicycle), stopping, and turning. Dominic decided I was ready for the CITY streets in the neighborhood. The parking lot was limited to only first gear. I was nervous about this....I had only rode dirt/mini bikes, but that was years ago & in the COUNTRY. Where there was no traffic and lots of soft ground to fall on. He assured me that if I could ride my bicycle in the city, then I could do this. EASY FOR HIM TO SAY. Well, I was game to give it a shot. YOU GO GIRL! I gave it a shot. Everything was going great. My take-offs were good, my balance, stopping, etc.. I really felt good about this. The feeling was as if I HAD DONE THIS FOR YEARS..... What was I so NERVOUS about? I REALLY LIKE THIS.... After a couple of weeks of doing this we started to take longer rides that would let me shift into higher gears. By week 3 . . .I started my MOTORCYCLE SAFETY COURSE. |

| This is HIGHLY RECOMMEND I firmly believe that EVERYONE who DRIVES (no matter what it is) should be REQUIRED to pass the written motorcycle laws and be made aware of the difference MotorCycle safety is very important. The course is FREE. Motorcycle drivers have to be more DEFENSIVE & not take driving a vehicle of any kind for granted. More people should realize this. This course has made me more aware of all the things I have been doing wrong since I STARTED driving. Being aware of the difference between MOTORCYCLES & VEHICLES has actually made me more curtious to everyone on the road. TIP: Did you know that a motorcycle is coming at you faster than a VEHICLE would be coming at you? SO DON'T PULL OUT IN FRONT OF A MOTORCYCLE, thinking that it is far enough away. IT'S NOT. That motorcycle is CLOSER THAN YOU THINK!!!! This causes so many accidents and then they want to blame the motorcycle driver. YEAH....RIGHT!!! I plan on attending an ADVANCED class again this year. I will keep repeating these classes as long as I still ride a motorcycle OR drive a vehicle. |
