FALL 2008 Classes of '68 and '69 joint reunion!
The "Fabulous 40 and Forever 39" Reunion of the DPHS Classes of 1968 and 1969 will take place at the
Hyatt Wind Watch in Hauppauge on Saturday, Oct. 11. Co-chairs are Sandy Hahn Lanman '68 and Paula Rubin Geonie '69.
The arrangements are being handled by Reunions Unlimited. In addition to renewing our ties with each other,
we plan to celebrate the memory of Ed Luksik. Classmates who came to our 35th reunion in 2003 will recall that
Ed traveled from his home in Pennsylvania to be with us that night. To make sure you receive an invitation. please

Several members of the Deer Park Avenue Elementary School
8th grade class of 1959 are planning a 50th reunion
for Saturday, October 10, 2009. It will be held at the
Deer Park Knights of Columbus Hall from 7:00 to 12:00. The
cost is $60 per person. A casual and fun time is
planned. Most of the graduating students from this class
went on to be the last class from Deer Park that graduated
in 1963 from Babylon High School. Spouses, guests and
anyone from previous classes at DP Ave School are invited.

many moves around the country, I am now retired and living well in Surprise,

Electronics Company. I am currently Vice President of Program Management.
Over 25 years after I graduated from DPHS I met a DPHS 1977 graduate
(Debbie Schaefer) and we were married in 1995. We have two sons and live
only a stone's through north of Deer Park. We both find the DPHS
Alumni sites very interesting and the messages have revived many memories

graduated Elon College(now Elon University) in 1969 and began my teaching
career. I taught for 29 years in the public schools of North Carolina.
I am now retired and doing some of the things I have been wanting to do
for years. I have a lovely wife Paula who also is an educator. I also
have two children. Amy, my daughter graduated fron Elon College and is
teaching at the same elementary school she attended. Adam is my son who
has an Information Systems degree From Wake Tech in Raleigh. He is
slowly climbing the corporate ladder with a company in Raleigh.
I am honored to be an alumni of Deer Park High. I had great times
there and value the education that my teachers provided for me. Some of

Hi! It was such a treat to happen upon the Alumni website and find
some of my classmates from the class of 1965 there. I have been married
to Scott for almost 35 years. We have 6 kids, 3 girls and 3 boys, and
2 � grandchildren.
We live in Mount Prospect, a suburb of Chicago, and have since the
1970's. Scott is a musician and I have gone back to work after many years
of raising kids and work at as an Amdministrative Assistant for a large
retirment village. Someday they may just keep me!

After reading the below web site pages about all the changes that have occured or are occuring in the Deer Park area I'm simply astonished! I always wondered about what happened to the old Comac Road overbridge. For years while I lived there I wanted to climb it and see where it went. Now I know.

with faces is really trying. Anyway after D.P.H.S I went into the Air
Force, returned home and went to Suff. Comm. Col. then Stony Brook and on
to Dowling. Moved to Englewood, Fl. in '85, and now to Pigeon Forge, Tn.

In common with most people my age, I'm 54. I lived all my life in New
York before moving to Florida in July of 1998. I retired
early, at age 50. Before retiring, I worked for the US Government. I've
been using computers since 1972, and been doing "online" as
a hobby since about 1985, long before the Internet existed, with BBSes.
I live with my SO, Shelley, (Shelleyfish on eBay), a female
Lovebird named Pumpkin, and a male Quaker Parrot named Jellybean.
I enjoy making new friends online, exchanging ideas and thoughts, and
getting into people's heads, as we used to say in the 60's. I
love Monty Python's Flying Circus, puns, and being silly. When not
online, I collect coins and stamps, read British mystery stories,
listen to doo wop or acid-rock music, or lie outside by the pool. I
love
not having to do anything!

Hi All,
Have not communicated since the 20 yr. reunion. Gail and I are enjoying
our 2 grandsons Blake and Luke and 32 yrs. of marraige. Our son Alex
got a football scholarship (I knew playing Soccer/Lacrosse was the wrong
sports) is now 30 and with UPS. Jason is 25 and teaching his son Blake
(2yrs. old) surfing (he just came back from Hawaii). Daughter Kimberly
is recovering from childbirth (Luke was born on 2-17-02) and is a CNA.
Gail is a Psychotherapist (I give her alot of practice)and is as
beautiful as ever (remember Gail Parietti? 1970).

Jo (nee Gabriel, DP Class of 1971) and I retired to Central Florida, after living in NW
New Jersey for the past 18 years in March, 2007. I worked for 3M Co. for 33 years.
Jo worked as an RN. We have 2 children, Ryan, 29, a 1st grade teacher and Lisa, 26, who
works in business. Both are single and reside in New Jersey. I am enjoying my retirement
so far playing golf, tennis, softball and just doing the things I was too busy to when I
worked. I would love to hear from my old friends from Deer Park, many of whom are fellow
Floridians.

What will never change is the times we shared and the memories we
carry. I married Linda Johnsen ('73) and we have two boys 9/12. I'm starting
my 20th year as Band Director at Copiague HS and have enjoyed an
excellent career there. Hope to see my fellow classmates from 69 the next
time!

Hi everyone. I now live in Florida where I'm a road patrol Sgt. for a local police
agency. I have three children; my son lives in Missouri with his wife
and my two granddaughters. My oldest daughter is also involved in law
enforcement, and my youngest will be graduating from high school in May,
2002. I would love to see everyone again.
Highly recommended by this site!!! Get an E-mail address for life that does not need to be changed when you switch ISP's. Especially with the new high bandwidth connections such as DSL and Cable modems, many of you will eventually move to other providers which require giving up your old e-mail address.
