Finest and felt a terrible loss when DP lost Joe Vigiano, John Vigiano and

Hello! I am a former alumnus of Brentwood Sonderling High School. I graduated as a senior,
and member of the National Honor Society, on the 25th of June 1978. The fundamentals,
which made me successful at Brentwood, were acquired through the Deer Park school district.
It was here, in kindergarten, in George Washington Elementary School, where a compassionate teacher assisted me,
as young boy from Puerto Rico, who had no working knowledge of the English language, to learn the language,
and later dominate it. With this positive beginning, which greatly impacted my life, I continued my later school years,
through John F. Kennedy Junior High School, Deer Park High School, and Brentwood Sonderling High School,
with a very positive outlook towards my scholastics, sports, and life. My positive educational, and athletic experiences,
has led me to many successes in life. Although I graduated as a Brentwood Indian, my foundations are strongly rooted in the
spirit of the Fighting Falcons. I would like to relay a warm greeting to my fellow alumni.

wrestling, and lacrosse. I got married and now have a 10 month old son. This past year my family and I moved to

I went to class of '78 10 and 20 year reunions. Had a blast but don't remember there being any other reunions.
Living in London now (married to a Brit) and have two young daughters who have British accents
(definitely don't sound like they're from Deer Park), which is a little freaky, but fun.
I know of one other DP-er living in the UK (Naomi K. - class of 78)! Last time I was in DP (probably 6 years ago,
so 2001) there was a gun shop and a tatoo parlour across the street from JFK Jr High School on DP Ave where the 5 & 10
used to be. That's progress, DP style. When I saw the movie Dazed and Confused, I thought it was about Deer Park,
with the name changed to protect the guilty. It was a wild, wacky place, but it made us the pillars of our communities
that we are today. Long live maroon and grey.

I happened across the DPHS site tonight and boy did it bring back a lot of
memories! I was in the class of 1971 and have often wondered what happened to
my pals...Chris Grell, Ginny Bell, Danny and Karen Henderson, Susan Bilyeu,
Roseann Bucci. Favorite teachers were Cary Gluck and Patricia Bell. I absolutely
loved the school nurse Gloria Froelich. What a nice lady. I'd love to know about
any reunions or hear from any folks from the class of 1971. I'm living in a suburb
of St. Louis but come home to Long Island once a year. I'll be checking the site

I recently heard from a couple of friends that I attended high school

So now that my cover's blown, I'd love to attend the 35th reunion in

The sites are wonderful - even though I have not left Deer Park
everyone's memories give me a renewed appreciation for DPA even when it looks
like the LIE on a Friday at 5 p.m. ! Graduating classes are now only
in the 200-300 count - weren't we a class of over 600 ? Hallways seem
deserted compared to when we crowded the halls ! DPHS and Frost have too
few familiar faces - the teachers all look like kids ! And the
guidance counselors ! Don't get me started - 20 somethings !

Hi everyone.
Hope everyone from the class of '72 is well and healthy.
I am living in Florida since 1984 and loving it. This is paradise. I
own my own insurance agency (health & life) never figured I'd be doing
this when I grew up, but I love it. My mother & father are still alive
and live down here too. My brother Paul (class of 1976) is living
outside Burlington VT.....brrrrrrrrr... We like to tease him and tell him
we are swimming in the pool on Christmas (which we have done time to
time).So heart breaking to see the list of our class members who have passed
away. As long as I wasn't on the list.
Best thing to ever happen to me was to become clean and sober, I just
celebrated my 10 year anniversity 12/1/1990.
Hope all are as happy as I am... look forward to coming to the 30th
year reunion.

have been married for 22 years. We settled in Jacksonville, Florida in

The CLASS of 1976 Held a reunion on JULY 8, 2006 at the Melville Marriot hotel at 8 PM. Price was $75.00 per person,
for a buffet and soda, etc. Organized by REUNIONS UNLIMITED and chairperson Virginia Beaton.
THE CLASS OF 1979 25 YEAR EVENT was held at Stuart Thomas Manor in Farmingdale on August 7th, 2004 and it was a smashing
success. Those of you who missed it can only imagine the fun we had that night.
The 5 hours we set aside went by so fast... I only got to talk to about half the people I wanted to talk to. Many of us
were not ready to call it a night and met at the Finish Line where the festivities continued into the next morning.
It had been almost 10 years since I set foot in that place, but it still felt like home. I really hope we do this again
in the future, and many others who attended expressed the same thoughts. Some spoke about being apprehensive about going,
but soon learned that there was no reason for this. Others came for the first time, having missed both the 10 and 20 year
events. And of course the many who managed to go to all 3 events so far also helped make it a memorable night.
And so far, we have recieved no complaints, other than the line at the bar was too long! My apologies to anyone who was
offended by by excessive photography or other antics, whatever those might have been! I personally had the best time ever
at this reunion, and not only was the company great but the food was too. Everyone looked great and moslty very
recognizable as well. Now lets stay in touch a little more, send someone an e-mail or something to say hello once in a
while. AND IF YOU WANT TO DO A 30 YEAR, HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN!
I have heard nothing from anyone about doing one... it is only 2 years away. This has to be by popular demand and if it
is not there... FUGGEDABOUTIT!
Anyway, don't forget to UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION so we can find you for future events!! Anyone wishing to join me for
future LI or NYC outdoor expeditions such as hikes or bicycle rides, etc. get in touch too.
