On Monday I was DISCHARGED from hospital. I've been a patient of the hospital for almost three months and it feels great to finally be free. In the past week I only made two trips to the hospital for some blood tests. My blood counts are looking good and the doctors are happy with my current progress.
I am now been treated as an outpatient which means I only have to visit the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic once a week at this stage and less frequently if I continue doing good.
It takes as long as one year for the new bone marrow to function normally so I will be monitored closely by the doctors during this time to identify any infections or complications that may develop.
My energy level has been good during the last week and I hope it stays that way as the days goes on.
My future diary updates will be brief just to inform everyone how I am doing.
Wish me luck as I slowly return to a normal way of life....
