As you would notice this update is a week late. The reason for this is that I received some sad news. Just as my life was becoming normal I received the horrific news that I had relapsed. This unfortunately means that my Leukemia is back.
Although the transplant was successful, looks like even with the highest doses of chemo and radiation some or even just one Leukemic cell did not get destroyed.
My white blood cell count has escalated to a large and uncontrollable number once again and this causes me to have severe jaw pains and headaches.
I am taking medication to help manage the pain.
I have received a mild dose of chemo to help reduce the Leukemic Blast cell count as well. This has helped to reduce my counts considerably.
I am currently feeling fine but have the occasional fever and fatigue.
There are a few options and we are busy investigating them at the moment. |
