Nothing new has developed in the past week. The anti-biotics have been stopped since the fevers are occurring less freqently and when I do have a fever it is mild and manageable.
I still have to visit the hospital everyday for blood tests. The reason for this is that my platelet count is still extremely low and I require a transfusion every second day. I am fortunate that I am not bruising or bleeding easily due to my low platelet count.
Here is another big medical term -: Thrombocytopenia which means low platelet count.
My white blood cell count is also still very low and hovers just under the 1 mark making me susceptible to infections.
My red cell blood count is good and remains in the normal range.
I still feel weakness in my hands and legs and have general fatigue but despite all this I continue to try and lead a normal life and appreciate and make the best of each day.
