Dee and the Yeomen Records-Part 2

BABY IT'S ALL WORTHWHILE

With the drummer, Len Lytwyn singing the lead on this next release, "Baby It's All Worthwhile" brought continued exposure for the group.

The B side featured Dee singing a standard called "Broken Hearted Melody", a now-sought after item by "60's" record collectors.

IN A MINUTE OR TWO

A tick-tock type of song followed called "In a Minute or Two". It was written some time earlier by Dee and his cousin Bobby Valentine, (as well as jointly penning Say Baby while in England). This popular release did very well on the Charts.
An opportunity to follow it's success across Canada presented itself when the group flew to Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto--all in eight days! They were able to "chase" the record by doing Radio & TV interviews on this tour.

The B side "Afraid of Love" was written by Terry Watkinson.

SOMEDAY YOU'LL NEED SOMEONE

"Dee and the Quotum" was the next offshoot of Dee and the Yeomen (picture to follow), and a single "Someday you'll need someone" was released. Recent information tells us that this song can still be found in Europe on various album compilations, one called "Rubble #4" and "Rubble #18" both collection CD's of British bands, but also including our lads, maybe not realizing that they are Canadian !! It was also released as a single in the UK on JayBoy Records, so there the confusion may well have started as to the country that the band was from.

THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD

Dee and Len went on to form a group called "Daybreak" & "This was meant to be" followed, although how well it did is not known by this writer. The flip side of the record, "The Greatest Story ever told", received lots of airplay in Toronto, with the record still available to collectors.
