D J Parag born and brought up in the urban part of Jaipur is a force to reckon with in the clubbing scene in Jaipur. Whether he's hunched over the pulsing lights of the studio or rocking a blistering drum & bass set out from the DJ booth - Parag works through the small hours and gets up morning lil late. These sleep habits of DJ Parag's have crept deep into the grooves of his DJ sets and productions as they're jammed to the bumper with depth-charge bass, crystal-tipped breaks and memorable, mysterious night-world melodies. They're trenchantly widescreen, covering hard soul slow-jams, laid-back girl singers, itchy, scratchy drum & bass and megaton MC chaos. Parag first caught the bass bug when he was 19, as house swept through the land. "I'd always been into music," he remembers, "my brother used to bring lots of english numbers to our house, my uncle is a professional keyboard player and music was always around the house - but this was progressive house! I went out raving and buying records. The rest of the time I'd be sitting at home mixing songs and working on my website." In typically modest style, Parag kept the mixes to himself - until a friend decided it was the best thing he'd ever heard and sent it off to their local pirate in Calcutta. Within a few weeks, Parag became a member of the Club Fusion. By profession, he's a Computer Engineer from one of the most reputed Indian School of Mines, an IIT JEE allied institute. The inevitable move into the DJ and music world didn't take long and he made his mind to apply his knowledge and expertise over technology to blend with the music and clubbing scene. He started doing his professional DJ training under one of the biggest DJ in the country - DJ Akash from Calcutta. It was clearly a good move. He has finally decided to come back to his native place and break through the virgin club market in Jaipur and is currently taking assignments for spinning and hitting clubs in Jaipur these days. He believes that Jaipur crossed over and for a short time, house kids, hip-hop heads and the whole of the Jungle massive are quite literally, singing the same tune as of the rest of the country.
