The Executive Committee and members of our Recreational Club extend our deep sympathies to the Vint family, who have lost two loved ones within the last four months.
VINT-
Clyde Errol. Died suddenly of an apparent coronary on the morning of Nov. 27,
2002. Clyde was born in India on July 31, 1946, and emigrated to British Columbia,
Canada in 1969. He lived in Richmond, Delta and Langley. At a memorial service
held on December 3rd 2002, friends and family gathered to honour a man whose
kindness, compassion, uprightness and Christian convictions were a beacon to
countless others. His twin brother, Colin Vint talked about the family's years
in Burma and India and in a moving eulogy, paid eloquent tribute to Clyde's
life and career, his personal dedication to God, and his unstinting generosity
towards loved ones and strangers alike.

VINT: Milton Herbert George. Barely nine weeks after saying their farewells
to Clyde, the Vint family and their friends gathered once again to lay another
brother to rest on February 8th 2003. Milt, the eldest of six boys, was born
December 17th 1936 in Rangoon, Burma. He passed victoriously into the presence
of the Lord on February 4th, 2003. Milt was an enthusiastic member of the church
choir, and the service paid tribute to his favourite hymns with vibrant renditions
of familiar refrains and gospel spirituals of praise and worship. Colin Vint
and his wife, Faith, sang a well-loved duet, "The Servant Song", after
which he and Milt's two boys, Bruce and Rod, each took the podium in turn to
talk about a brother and father who had been an inspiration to them all. "Never
give up!" Milt used to say, and he lived up to the axiom, fighting injustice
with honesty, dedication and sincerity. Although the last ten years of Milt's
life were racked with suffering on many fronts-cardiac problems, high blood
pressure and other complications which necessitated surgery and long periods
in hospital-his spirit and courage never wavered. Milt will be greatly missed
by Barbara (Babs) his devoted wife for 40 years, his sons Rod, (and Terri-Lynn),
Graeme and Bruce, grandsons, Zakari and Adian, his brothers Keith, Brian and
Colin, all the extended family of sisters-in-law and brothers in law as well
as friends and relatives in England and Australia.
Colin quoted the following lines at Clyde's memorial service. It applies to all who, like the Vint family, have bidden a last farewell to a loved one.
"Grief, like the ocean, comes in waves, only to recede and come yet again. But with it, comes healing. Memories wash ashore and are bathed in the golden sun. Grab hold of those memories and let them fill the emptiness. May they bring you peace."
