Day 6: Thursday, July 4:  Kathleen's father, Ally, takes me on an historically educational tour of the Derry City Walls.  This is one of the most interesting and in-depth activities I've done yet...  For more information on the "Historic Walled City," visit this site.
The Walls are 18 feet thick and encircle 2 square miles
Cannons stationed at a former lookout post
A British Army guard tower - you can't see them in this photo, but there are rifles with scopes sticking out of the windows...
...and right next to that tower is this tower with cameras pointing in every direction.
Ally stands outside St. Columba's, the oldest Catholic Church in Derry - built in 546.  There are graves of people buried there as far back as the 6th century!
The site of the original altar.  The church has since been expanded, but this plaque marks the spot in the middle of the sanctuary where the first altar stood.
The Bloody Sunday Centre
Kathleen and I on one last bender on my last night in Derry! I'm leaving for Dublin the following day.
Wowing 'em with my rendition of "Killing Me Softly!"
Yeah, that's me - kissing a REAL live Irishman!  Always wanted to do that! (And, thanks to Kathleen, it would happen several more times throughout the night!
Out at Abrakebabra for my favorite  drunken snack  with a couple of Kathleen's pals.
Later on...
