Her news and her family.

Rose is currently in great health. The weekend of May 20-21, she enjoyed a visit from her sister MaryAnn, her son Rick, and his wife and children. Here's a picture taken of Rose and MaryAnn from that visit: Memorial Day Weekend brought her the opportunity to visit with 3 of her children and their families - what a FULL weekend! She still sews whenever she gets a chance, and making stuffed toys for Christmas presents is still her favorite thing to make (so get your kids' names on her Christmas list early!). Currently her passion is her garden, full of vegetables. If you want to contact Rose, please do - she loves to hear from any family! Her number is still the same number it's been for 18+ years, but if you need to hunt it up, she's in the phone book. Just in time for the Halloween season, a tiny girl cat came to Rose's house with a broken front left leg, and not in the best of health. Rose has helped this kitten's leg to mend and nursed her back to health, and in return, this kitten keeps her company as she sews and eats (of course). Her name is Valkyrie, as she has the spirit to match. Here's a picture of Val: (If you click on the picture, it will open to the larger image). Val has healed nicely from her broken leg, and it is so much fun to watch her confidence and skills building daily. She is a constant source of entertainment and love, at any time of the day. And here is Granny's new puppy. Her name is Chance, as we found her quite by a chance stopping at the Scenic View on 63, north of Rolla.      Chance shows signs of being abused, as she is very timid and easily startled. When we found her, she was wet to the bone, severely dehydrated, and hungry enough to overcome her timidness to get a bite of a granola bar. Fortunately, the vet gave her a clean bill of health, and told us that Chance looks to be largely of Border Collie and Blue Tick Hound heritage (click to see full-sized pic). What an interesting mix! She is a very friendly pup who is absolutely ecstatic to have a big yard and two other dogs to run around and play with. It should be fun watching her come out of her shell. As you can tell by her attitude in the picture, she is VERY proud of her car (click to see full size) - as a matter of fact, it was her idea to put up a pic of her car on here, and share her good news and happiness with her family.
