| Cost for Labor Doula Services Total fee: $400 Retainer: $150, due upon contract signing Remainder: Due by your 36th week of pregnancy Plese ask me about special financial situations, as we may be able to work something out on a sliding scale or for you to make payments. I would like for all women to be able to have the assistance of a doula, regardless of financial state. |
| Additional Services: Post-Partum Doula If you are in need of someone to help you out in your post-partum period, I offer my services for this. A post-partum doula is able to run errands, give breastfeeding help, newborn and post-partum care advice, assist with baby care, household activities, meal preparation, and support the parents in any way possible. I am knowledgeable in breastfeeding, post-partum comfort measures, massage and herbal remedies. The cost for this is $20/hr. To put it in perspective, a mother will pay $25/hr. for a maid or $70/hr for a massage, and none will have your family's interest at heart like a doula. This has also been shown to reduce the severity and occurence of PPD and assist in a speedier recovery, particularly after a c-section. A list of things a Post-Partum Doula may do: Provide emotional support Aid in parent-infant bonding Assist and demonstrate infant care Provide relaxation Accompany mother and baby on outings and appointments Take care of household tasks Prepare nutritious meals and snacks Listen to and honor your birth experience Support and encourage new parents Teach feeding techniques Provide encouragement and support in breastfeeding Help tend to and support siblings of the new baby Provide comfort measures and light massage Answer phone calls and field visitors Provide mother with freedom and help Run errands and do shopping as needed I also offer my srevices to mother with high-risk pregnancies and/or bedrest. The cost is $20/hr. |
