My Career

I am currently a grad student in the Theatre for Youth (TFY) program at Arizona State University working towards my MFA.
As if this bio wasn't enough, I have one on ASU's webpage too!

I recently reloated to my hometown of Portland, Oregon to complete an internship with Michael Rohd at Sojourn Theatre. Michael is nationally known for his work in political, physical theatre. I also teach for Higher Stages, Oregon Children's Theatre and Northwest Children's Theatre.

Upon graduation in December, 2005, I hope to find a job teaching drama for a professional theatre. I have also considered going back to school again to get my elementary education teaching certification. So who knows!

This spring I wrote and directed my first play, Lost Dog, which is (not surprisingly) about my dogs. I received lots of positive feedback and have been encouraged by my colleagues to continue rewriting it. The script is currently being sent out to playwrighting competitions natonally for additional feedback.

I have an extensive background in theatre. I hold a B.A. from the University of Portland in acting
and have worked for several professional theatres in various capacities. Some of my acting credits include:

Mrs. White in Clue: The Musical
Louise/Gypsy in Gypsy
Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly!
Maria in The Sound of Music
Penny in You Can't Take it With You
Karen in The Children's Hour
Cora Hoover Hooper in Anyone Can Whistle

I have also studied voice since 1994.
I won First Place for my classical solo work at the Granquist Competition in Illinois in June 2002 and
Second Place for my solo musical theatre work. After a two and a half year grad school hiatus, I am again studying voice with a new teacher, Beth Madsen, whom I've known and respected since my days at Linfield College.
