About Me

Finally time for an update!  Last updated on Feb 25, 2002

My name is Debra, I am 25 years old, and married to the most wonderful man on earth!  Jon (Viet) and I met in April of '99 on the internet and were married a short two months later.  You can find more of our story here.  I am the mother of one son, Colin born on 1-19-00 and one daughter, Mackenzie, born 9-4-01!   My family and I live in Southern California in a home we like to think we own, and it is very nice of the bank to let us think that too!  We have three cats, and a few stray ones that have seemingly adopted our backyard as their home, which our dog just doesn't seem to appreciate.  

Before getting married and starting my family I was going to college to get my teaching certificate and later a degree in Early Childhood Studies.  I have since put that on hold to begin this wonderful family, but I do have goals to go back to school and continue my education.  I may even change my major to a lit major.  I love writing.  I write poetry and have just started working on some children's books.  My life has changed so much in the last three years, that I sometimes wonder what my goals where then, and how they would differ from the goals I have now.   Each day that passes brings me more passion for my family and a brighter scope for the future.  I cannot imagine the things I will see and do in the next 20 years.

My husband and children have been the biggest blessings in my life, and I continually thank God for them.  I was never really aware of what love was, until I felt it within the arms of my husband, and the laughter of our toddling children.   Each day they open my eyes to the wonder that is the world.  I can see many things through the eyes of our son, I hear fabulous tales in the coos of our daughter, and I see passion in a way I never thought was possible through the heart of my loving soul mate. 
 We will continue to grow within each other and through God.  

I also have many wonderful friends, online and off.  I never imagined having friends that I have not seen before, yet I have three amazing women online that I consider to be my sisters.  Or should I say, sistahs?!  They have been in my life for three years, and I am always amazed at how we get along.  God surely shows you that life is never what it seems.  I have also met some wonderful SAHM's through my Moms N Moms To Be community and group.  I really enjoy the time I am able to spend on Web Design, and hope to some day use my skills to work professionally, and I know I have so much more to learn.  I have been online now for three years in the summer of 2001.  When I first logged on, and started an email account with Hotmail, I never in my wildest dreams imagined it would bring me friends close as family, and a family all my own.
