Above Picture: Malaysian Trumpet Snail. These snails serve a great function by not only cleaning up detritus but also turning the substrate (getting in the gravel or substrate and aerating it) making it a good envirement for plants to take root in. If over fed, they will multiply and over take your tank, caution is advised.
I add crushed coral to the substrate to keep the optimal PH and hardness snails need. I also add Kents concentrated Calcium and Iodine also. My snails have a beautiful sheen to their hard, healthy shells and are being fed all sorts of veggies, algae wafers and tropical flake food. Pictured left are snails I am presently selling on Ebay. Ivory, Blue, Yellow Striped, Chestnuts, Light Striped Purples, Striped Jades and Dark Striped Purples.

Asolene Spixi newly imported from Germany and now being bred in the US by private breeders. This snail only grows to the size of a Marble! It is another species of Apple Snail and has all of the food and water requirements of the Brig species. Spixi's lay their egg clutches below the water line (unlike Brigs). They are good in the planted aquarium but they have been known to take a nibble here and there, but not enough to do major damage IMO. They are compatible with most snails although they have been known to eat pond snails.

A very RARE Blue Ramshorn who was developed by a friend named Karin, who also sells them on Aquabid and Ebay. I have a few of these beauties and would love to see them breeding soon in my tanks as well.

The Gold Marisa Cornuarietis also known as "Giant Ramshorn Snail". Beautiful, shy snail that can grow to 2" in diameter. This snail is one of my PETS that I have utter respect for. It has been moved around many times and each time he acts as tho he belongs!! As long as I've had him, he doesn't bother plants and gets along fine with my other species of snails.
